Quite a few problems… but… SUPER PONY WENT CLEAR!!![/QUOTE]
Great news! Congratulations!
I have been here volunteering my time and also spending some time apprenticing with Jan and Fran as a steward. The courses were big and the hills are Fair Hill! I saw some great riding and great saves and some very tired horses. Farrah was up on her minute markers until the second water, and then she backed off the pace. Sinead let her pick her own pace and the pony picked up 17 on the clock but she did jump around clean. I am so very proud of them Pictures from fans are up on her facebook page (Forrest Nymph). Lesley Feakins, her breeder, also got to come see her go, which was awesome!
I have a new crush, Sparrow’s Nio. Watched him through the second *** water and she gave him a lovely quiet ride, time to see what he was doing. He looked for it, saw it, and jumped through neat as a pin and with a smile on his face.
That 10 seconds erased a lot of bad eventing mojo caused by watching exhausted horses at WEG and Burghley.
I love Sparrow’s Neo (Nio? I can never remember). Half Connemara! Lovely xc horse
Sparrow’s Nio is a very cool little dude.
VERY thrilled for Maggie and Dante who are sitting in 11th tonight. They are total rock stars.
Cheering from home for MeghanDACVA’s boy Proper Timing who is currently 9th in the 3* with Jon Holling
Totally psyched for Caitlin, Jennie, Sally, Kate and Maggie who all had fabulous gos and moved up a ton on this tough course
Any report from the jogs?
It looks like all horses that jogged were clear.
A big shout out to my favorite amateur Kevin Keane and Fernhill Flutter. The only one to make the round with no time faults. Starting the day sitting 5th. Goes to show one is never too old to pursue a dream. And given the fact he has a very time consuming veterinarian practice makes his accomplishments that much more impressive.
Woohoo pony!
Does anyone know if there will be a PRO audio cast of the show jumping? Was hoping to listen while I work this afternoon.
Ditto Gumtree. Kevin is a truly amazing person and accomplished rider. As well as the best lameness vet around. I do not know how he finds time to do it all and still take such good care of his clients.

In case anyone else is wondering, the answer is no.
Yea for Andrew McConnon and Ziggy! He was one of 7 to finish on his dressage score in the **. He went from 58th to 16th! WTG Andrew!!
And WTG Ziggy who I believe is 19 or 20 this year and still jumping clear rounds in x/c and jumping!!!
Seconding a cheers for Andrew and Ziggy - I learned to ride at the lesson barn his mother still runs and he and Ziggy seem like a fantastic pair!

A real roller coaster for Andrew and Ziggy who got in literally at the last moment. Kudos to Ziggy’s owner Rachel Jurgens who knew that Ziggy would not be happy in retirement and handed the reins over to one of the nicest people in eventing so he could get some upper level experience!
I just want to say that I am SO thrilled to have gotten my qualifying ride this weekend! Fair Hil was AWESOME, for the second yea in a row, my horse was an absolute rockstar on two out of three phases, one of which has historically been our absolute worst phase. I think he’s turned a corner in that phase, as our test felt totally repeatable, and if his mental state continues to hold, improvable as well.
Show jumping was a bit rough, but Dante was pretty exhausted by then, and a bit body sore from the mud as well. He tried his heart out over all the big oxers, but let his guard down over the smaller verticals, which is where we ended up with all of our rails. I didn’t really help him much at two (possibly three) of those fences where he pulled rails, putting him in a deep spot that was difficult for him to jump out of in his state. I am absolutely relieved to have gotten this show finally completed with a QR, and so happy for everyone from this weekend. Congrats to all!
It was tough. 76 of 110 completed and only 54 with no xc jump penalties!! The pony managed to be one of those, finishing 41/110. She proved she would be genuine to the jumps, so next spring we will concentrate on building muscle and stay at the 2* level.
