I think when this sale is on all carriers of Horseware are also 20% off.

That is what I was going to say. Except mine is the high-neck with an open front. I’ve switched mostly to high neck blankets these days after a biomechanics expert getting me freaked out about chronic pressure on the nuchal ligament right in front of the withers.

Noooo but I’m so intrigued with the adjustable v snap front :joy: Pretty sure Horseware patented theirs, which is why no one else uses it.

Since it’s an actual pony blanket, instead of a horse blanket made small, it might be a better flyer?

But yeah, I only buy Rambo so I get you!

mmmm… no. I checked with Performance Horse Blankets before I ordered from Adam’s and their pricing was ‘usual’. But a quick google search just now shows a variety of pricing. So I think it’s not an “overall” sale.
Whatever. Just a PSA.

I have had both Schneider and Weatherbeetas last 15 or more years, fit beautifully and stay waterproof. I had one Schneider blanket that was 18 years old. I have to admit one of the surcIngles needed to be sewn back on by then
I have seen other people’s Rambos and been u impressed

oh strange!

I just know normally when Horseware offers a sale its across all retailers who carry Horseware. Sort of an insider retail secret but maybe theres was a one off!

I have not found a single Weatherbeeta that fits nicely, but that could due to the type of horses I have. I also don’t find them warm, lots of heat loss. They don’t breathe the best.

Well, got an email from Performance Horse Blankets about sale on Horsewares this morning, so I guess it’s across the board, they were just late to the party, lol.
Sigh.

I mentioned it upthread but I read from a retailer’s FB that Horseware upped their minimum sales amount and in turn dropped a lot of their smaller vendors. So I think they may be trying to clear out leftover stock at this point.

Which, when combined with the rewards point system Adams offers, helped me get some screaming deals on a Rhino 100g and Amigo medium this season!

ETA just saw the post that Performance Horse Blankets is having the sale too. I just know that Adam’s had deals on everything before the beginning of the month anyways.

That’s too funny!

@eventammy good to know! I always try and wait for those sales to buy anything Horseware haha

I received my Kensington 100 gram. While it’s been to warm to need it, I was impressed with the quality. The surcingle straps are completely removable and it came with a weird belly wrap that goes under the surcingles and is also completely removable. The neck opening is deeper than my WBs, the Rhino Wug and the Amigo blankets I have which is perfect for this horse. That said, I think the horse could use a deeper still neck opening. The blanket seems quite heavy for a 100 gram. I suspect the outer material is the source but am not 100% sure.

The Amigo Bravo 100g wug from Adams showed up yesterday. This was the one I bought to replace the too big Rhino wug. I tried it on her last night, no complaints. This one shipped a lot faster than the others I purchased.

Unless I get a wild hair to try to buy something else for the donkey, I think I am done for a bit.

We have had some unseasonably warm temps for the past week, but that is coming to an end. It looks like by next week the blankets will start getting regular use.

Growing up, our horses all had one blanket each. Most of them were canvas with fuzzy or flannel lining. Some were stable blankets with foam fill. Others were New Zealand-style. We would put them on around Thanksgiving and not take them off again until spring (except to ride), regardless of the weather. The horses lived out in pastures. The only waterproofing was either waxing them or spraying them with Scotch Guard before they went on at the start of the season. I think about that a lot as I stress over making sure my horses each have 4 different weights of blankets for every condition. :joy:

I feel you on the 4 blankets each lol.

It’s been regular hot here lately. 86 for the high today. But like you cooler weather rolling in this weekend. I’m excited to try my new 100 gram.

I’m afraid that unlike you I still need more blankets. My hard to fit boy really deserves a whole new wardrobe of blankets that fit him better. I think I’m going to save up and spring for a Rambo for him to try next. Ideally a 50 gram or sheet and then if it fits well a medium and heavy liner.

Yes back in the old days one blanket per horse and one saddle per rider!

I wish they only had 4 blankets each. That’s a minimum.

I love it! Then we have hoods, liners and coolers on top of that :joy:

I’m hoping to have a better blanket area in my barn in the future. My favorite blanket set up that I’ve worked with was a line of sturdy hook where the blankets could hang by the neck opening but that might be too much wall space to dedicate to blankets. What do you like?

If I had a good system for storing blankets, I’d be living large.

Mine live in trash bags in my garage until they get used; then they live in piles in my tiny tack/feed room or draped over dutch doors.

Similar here. Cept they are in my horse trailer off season and either over the stall partition or a heap in my aisle

Right?! When I had my first horse at 13, my mom made him a blanket out of Polar fleece. It was so crazy but it kept him bone dry and that was on the Olympic Peninsula. My girls have lighter and heavier sheets 50, 100, 220, 360 and 400g blankets. Of course I’m farther inland here and it gets colder, but not nearly as much rain.

So I’ve got this thing for blankets and it works better than just about anything else I’ve tried. I’ve got it bolted into studs, so it takes a really solid amount of weight. It does require a step stool if it’s hung high enough to keep the blankets off the ground.

There are a few different iterations of this type of blanket bar out there, but I prefer this specific one. You can slip one of the liner hooks over the little horse ear to better support the blanket and keep everything tidy. (I put the blankets up there hem toward the wall, unlike the pic on this site which has the spine side toward the wall.)

Each horse has a hook for their clothes. I have 100g, medium and extra heavy all stacked together, by horse, and one extra arm for other stuff.
