Favorite Small Businesses
NOT equestrilifestyle.com. they’re basically stealing $300 of mine, bought 3 things over a month ago. they will not respond to any of my emails and deleted my comment on instagram. going to have to file a charge back :(
I can’t comment on that particular store, but I have to say that this is my biggest pet peeve with a few small(er) companies, if you are posting to social media very prolifically, you better be answering e-mails just as fast, nothing annoys me more than not having a reply to an e-mail or message when they are obviously online posting a ton to social media.

Back on topic, there are some great suggestions here, quite a few new ones to look into! Keep them coming!

I’ve got a small business for fun spur straps, I know a couple of COTHers that have bought from me!

But in support for other small businesses top 3 are below:

Higher Standards, Have bought their lavendar scent and loved it! Did great wonders for my tack!

SMZ Browbands, she makes spectacular fun browbands! Has tons of colors and designs to choose from! I have had two made from her and always get a tone of compliments!

Padded Ponies, Makes great saddles pads, half pads (and covers), and much more. Fun prints and perfect price point! I have two of her Ogilvy covers and they fit perfectly! Others I have bought seem to gap by the spine and my saddle ends up off the pad.

Five Star Tack!

I bought my coach a pair of your blingy spur straps and she LOVED them! They were beautiful.

I would definitely be ordering more if the Canadian-US exchange wasn’t so awful right now.

Another vote for Indy Equestrian. Love that I’m supporting a COTHer!

Echoing the one other person that mentioned Clever With Leather
Not only do they have the most creative, classic, custom belts, bracelets, dog collars etc. but the owner also will make you custom halters with different colored padding, fancy stitch in different thread colors, brass or silver hardware. Cannot say enough good things about this company. Belts and halters are flawless and I get so many compliments.
I recently had a company follow me on Instagram that looks very interesting… called GrazersApp
Looks like it is an app where people can post and buy used horse items. Seems like a cool idea, but I have yet to really investigate it or work with them.
Also lots of love for Personally Preppy too. MUST MONOGRAM EVERYTHING

Annie’s Equestrienne http://anniesusa.com/

Thank you Perfect 10!!! We are so happy to be a part of COTH and I love the community feeling here!

Man, I forgot Phyllis Stein, Oliver Green Belts…they are both great too!

Anyone know of unique saddle plates, bridles plates etc from someone OTHER than swanky saddle?

I wanted to drop in and say “Thank YOU!” to everyone that has said such nice things about HSLC. It is so neat to realize that the products we make in our kitchen are used happily by people from all over!

While there is a part of me that likes the idea of growing big enough that we’d have to move the manufacturing out of my tiny kitchen, I’m equally thrilled to be making products from home that people love – it is as if I’m sending things out to friends I haven’t yet met!

I also prefer shopping with other small businesses and this is a great list!

Libby (who was so proud to have realized I’ve used my own container of saddle soap down to the bottom yesterday!)

Find a hand engraver (like me) and tell him/her exactly what you want.

And you can make your own recommended product list of all your favorites on www.TackMeUp.com

I thought that I would share a small art business that specializes in original humorous equine art and does commissions with horses jumping over cocktails or cupcakes.

Thanks to the person that started this list.
I bought leathers from Gary Mundy-Love them
Tried my higher standards leather care last week-well worth it
Waiting for my bit from indy equestrian-Amanda was so helpful.

Going to try a few others as I need (not really) a belt and would like to get my girls leather halters.

Phyllis Stein Equestrian makes the coolest tees ever! Love Pony Express Girls, My Barn Child and Ecolocious

I just wanted to add that I ended up getting two half pads from SweetAlyssa - a memory foam and a latex - and I LOVE them! The colors are perfect and everything is really well made, and I love that they’re not as poofy as the ogilvy pads. Will definitely shop with her again!

All I can say is HALTERTAGS.com. Who ever recommended these guys I want to say thank you! I ordered a few engraved bridle tag and they are beautiful (only horse people can see beauty in a brass tag). Anyway. They a great. Very deeply engraved

Such a great thread and considering it is less than four months til Christmas…

Thanks to this thread, I recently received my second order from Higher Standards leather care. I love the leather balm and the scented saddle soap - yummy!

Libby, you’re doing a great job in your tiny kitchen.
