Feds just raided AC4H

I expect they’re keeping on because they figure if they suddenly stopped that it would be considered by many as a tacit admission of guilt…or maybe they’re hoping that it will all just go away so they’ve got to keep things moving so nobody stops and thinks about what’s going on here.

Personally I think Christie has a God complex.

It sounds like there is some ‘issues’ between Brian’s wife and Christi Shady. It seems she has been quoted as saying she feels they’re making too much money on the deals and that they’re dishonest… Awww
Maybe there is a “stay away from my husband” - a woman scorned - drama episode brewing?
Hurry, someone get the movie rights.

Chrusty calls that an ‘awesome canter’
Good grief.

That was clearly a tongue-in-cheek use of the word “awesome.”

Not that I’m defending her… just saying.

When you’re posting the vid for potential adopters to see, tongue in cheek is not a smart move.

Not that I think she meant it tongue in cheek.

Well since the story goes that Xty and Brian are related… lets hope not.
Then again in some parts these things aren’t as frowned on…

Have a glass of wine. You seem like you could use it.

Christy is a crook and gives “rescues” a bad name. But laughing at a crow-hopping pony is far from her worst offense.
I believe there is an element of attention seeking behavior in all of this -heck, in a lot of the rescue people. They NEED the adrenaline, they thrive on the attention (good or bad) -the more, the better.

I follow local rescues on FB and it seems to me it is all about attention seeking behavior and very little about the animals. Make room Florence Nightingale, the animal rescue heroes have arrived! They truly are the “superheroes” of our generation! Right! Not only that, but they make money doing what they “love.”

The raid has just added to her drama, the adrenaline, the excitement that is…“ANIMAL RESCUE”

She sees her life in a movie title.
An arm chair psychoanalyst might predict that narcissistic personality disorder (NPD) would be the diagnosis of many of these so called animal rescuers.
My vote goes for Messiah Complex.

“A messiah complex (also known as the Christ complex or savior complex) is a state of mind in which an individual holds a belief that they are, or are destined to become, a savior. The term “messiah complex” is not addressed in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM), but symptoms of the disorder closely resemble those found in individuals suffering from Grandiose delusions (GD) or delusions of grandeur.”

Christy Sheidy, the Marshall Applewhite of horses. Maybe the spaceship will save her before the Feds swoop in for an arrest.

Ya think?

I don’t think she has “rescue syndrome” (hooked on feeling like she is God’s Gift to horses because she saves them) or a Messiah Complex. She isn’t hooked on the emotional lift she gets from those who call her an “angel for all that you do”. She isn’t a bleeding heart who can’t stop at an appropriate number.

She is a scammer who recognized an easy way to separate people from their money. If she has any syndrome, it is the “I have never made money this easily before” syndrome.

If saving broken toasters brought in the same kind of money, she would be “saving” broken toasters.

This just crossed my Facebook newsfeed (so, in case anyone was wondering, the investigation is still ongoing):

“The following letter is now being received by several victims that have been identified by the FBI as victim in the ongoing criminal investigation into AC4H. If you have been identified as a victim, you will not only receive this letter, you will also receive several brochures advising you of your rights and all help that is available for victims of crimes such as this. Again we want to continue to support the victims as well as the ongoing work of the FBI.”

saw this on RateMyHorse Pro too

Trivia, but I found the date on the letter interesting. In the middle of the government shutdown, with thousands of federal employees furloughed, the FBI is mailing out “victim” letters and brochures.

Not to suggest that the letters are somehow bogus; it just seems, to me anyway, to be a little odd. Oh well, nothing surprises me much anymore.

Remember that it was not a total shutdown; many services, such as ongoing law enforcement actions, were funded. Since it would not be easy for the FBI to select which particular cases to keep running, they most likely selected entire divisions or departments to keep open.

The FBI wasn’t shut down. And people recalled from furlough, or exempt did their usual duties also.

In case some of you wonder what is going on with them http://www.portal.state.pa.us/portal/server.pt/community/charities/12444/enforcement_and_disciplinary_actions/571846 this is lastest have seen.

So basically if they accept any money or charge for a horse via the “rescue” they will be fined?

Not sure but they dont seem to be pushing horses right now out of new holland.

But they’re pushing “adoptions” (sales) of their “rescue” horses on their FB page and website (some/many of which I suspect are probably broker horses, but that’s just IMO).

They are obviously still solicitating donations - both on their FB page and their website. Seems nothing has changed, in spite of that .pdf referenced in the link above that ML posted that prohibits AC4H from accepting donations.
