I have the same cactus scratch post.
He is so cute, and so lucky yo have found you. Happy he’s doing great
his little bunny rump is so darn cute. Hopefully when he joins gen pop your older kitties can school him a little bit and teach him an ounce of self preservation.
Your dog’s face! I have a feeling Mobile will hold his own, but you’re very wise to supervise & do gentle introductions, for everyone’s sake. You have to video him yowling - I get the feeling he might be a little bit spoiled & rightly so. He’s going to rule the house & perhaps the world
30minutes of yowling on the way to the vet. As soon as I moved him to the backseat where he couldn’t see me blissful silence lol. Stitches are out and he’s good to go!

That healed well. Plus, it will make it easy to clean if he ever gets the runs, LOL
He’s gotten so big.
Good job!
I couldn’t watch his Captive vid, 3sec in & my cat got all bugeyed.
Mobile must have been saying something really desperate.
When I watched it, the dog came in all alert and wondering who was dying!
I had to turn it off after a couple seconds because my dog was worried, so those piteous sounds were in a universal language.
Hahaha such a huge personality for a little cat. He’s the best! His little bum healed up nicely. My cat gave me the death sneer when I played the captive video
The gate now buys us about 1.5 seconds before he leaps out I can usually catch him mid leap working on dog introductions his zoomy ness and braveness is making it a bit harder on the terrier. She gets worked up as he’s running around full speed and then he keeps running straight up to her face lol. He’s obsessed with water and any food I’m trying to eat. He also prefers to lay down to drink which is cute. I did figure out I can scatter kitten treats hiding them in everything and it keeps him pretty occupied
Darn, he is so cute!
If you put two gates, one on top of the other, would that help the escaping Mobile problem?
I had double gates and it only bought a few more seconds and made it more difficult to get into the room. I was hoping we could do sniffing and being around the dog with a gate but nothing I have will actually keep him contained. It’s not a huge deal because I’m working on introductions. I am a bit nervous about long term if he’s going to be really bad about darting out the front and back door. I might have to get an airhorn or something super scary to deter him in the beginning so he doesn’t try. If he ends up just needing to an outdoor/indoor kitty that’s ok we just know the risk of predators etc is worse and we obviously want him sticking around. The stuff to make the catio outside just came today. I’m out of town this weekend but will get it setup next week/weekend.
Oh sorry, I thought you meant you had tried two gates, both at ground level with a gap between them so jumping out required spanning a gap, not two gates, one on top of the other making a huge tall gate. I apologize for my confusion.
So height won’t really matter because he can climb the gates even my tall one. I’d need a different style of gate with no cross bars because he uses those to hoist himself up
If it’s feasible, try a screen door. My friend who fostered exchanged a door in the kitten room for a screen. Helped everyone interact safely. When they sold the house, they put the regular door back up
He has the absolute CUTEST little face. I wouldn’t get any work done.
Maybe you can keep a little water gun by the doors?
He’s a little doll. How are the other cats getting along with him? Mobile probably isn’t giving them much of a choice.
That part is going great. My 2 older cats are growling at him and basically saying stay away from me which is actually teaching him some semblance of manners there’s no swatting or fighting. My two younger cats are super curious about him and he runs right up they sniff and just hang out. He’s been following the boy Johnny around and I hope they figure out playing soon.
