Caryledee
I am looking for a horse that could event in the future (nothing absolutely massive, but decent sized) - I have an OTTB that has nasty bone chips and spurs and is not able to jump. She’s with me for the long haul and will need a friend when she moves home. So that is why I want to get a horse that is physically up to my hopes for the future and why I’m looking now.
Ideally, the horse would be 16+hh, but for the right horse and price I wouldn’t mind a touch smaller. My girl is just barely 15:2 and I’d love something bigger.
I would prefer no older than 6 yrs old, although 3 or 4 would be ideal - again, for the right horse, it’s not such an issue. Mare or Gelding - doesn’t matter, but I did promise my husband that I wouldn’t get a stallion - since he’ll have to take care of them from time to time and he’s not all that horsey. I do have a lot of experience with stallions, so if a horse was recently gelded and still a little full of hormones, that would be okay.
My absolute top picks at this point are:

Since you’ve all been convincing about the gelding issue.
I realize that this is a big list, but am well aware that photos only show so much. Meeting them in person is important to me and I can more easily narrow things down. And meeting them can make you be more flexible on the guidelines you set for yourself, if it’s the right horse when you meet it, if you see what I mean. I’m not trying to waffle, just know that i can be pleasantly surprised, when I don’t expect it - keeping an open mind.
However, if those of you who know, feel I need to have just one horse in mind, and only one, then I’ll keep thinking about the little information that I have and figure it out.
In the meantime it’s fun drooling.
