Finger Lake Race Track -- End of the Season -- Many New Homes -- Warmest Thanks

Sorry to be late to the party!

I am so gratified to so the response to Louise’s initial post. I don’t know who to respond to first.

I work backside every morning but have been a volunteer with the Trainer’s Listings. I “know” many of the horses you’re all expressing interest in.

Danceronice, I will avail myself whenever I can to meet your brother. That goes for anyone else who needs some assistance through the process of selecting and buying a horse from Finger Lakes.

Regarding some of the mentioned horses: Lucky to Cope is a sweetheart of a horse, one of those older class horses that knows how to behave and is totally professional about doing his job. He has a gentle, quiet presence that just melts me.

Carr Ride is sound and extremely quiet, like giddyup and go, will ya? quiet! Nice, big bodied horse.

Maria’s Treasure, like her stablemates Wing and With Spirit, is drop-dead gorgeous. I’m a sucker for bay mares, but she is nothing but all around lovely. And, for what it’s worth, her trainer is PROUD of his horses and takes excellent care of them.

The big gray gelding, Live Action, raced today and finished out of the money.

Please feel free to post or PM or e-mail me for more information and, preferably, arrange the details that get one of these lovely beasts in your barn!

Vets

Although Sunday is a dark day, each of the two on-track practices has at least one vet on the track on dark days.

Caryledee your not suppose to say that!! lol

No point in me getting a horse when i leave for Australia in a month and not getting back till september (earliest). But then the other hand Dad keeps telling me i should get a horse… lol

But then this would be my first horse. Worked/ridden with horses for the past 10-12 years and do currently work with thoroughbreds down in Oz but still…

P.

Maybe I can see if my benefactress will buy Outskip for me… Maintenance isn’t a problem, it’s that darn initial purchase!

I love my Fingerlakes boys!

In the spirit of enabling any of you who are on the fence, I have to tell you I had two come to me last year who are great boys and two more coming to KY this year as well. I got them sight unseen, but spoke with the trainers and Louise. I don’t think you will be disappointed if you take someone home for Christmas!

I.SHOULD.NOT.LOOK. I am supposed to be looking for a horse that’s been off the track for awhile BUT - can anyone tell me anything about El Huracan? I am looking for my first dressage horse . . . (I’ve had horses for 36 years, but am just venturing into dressage . . . ) I also like Somewhereinbetween . . .

Saw El Huracan when I went with my friend. A TOTAL sweetheart! Seemed very quiet. He was barefoot. The groom there said they were taking him to the Genesee Valley Hunt Races that weekend. The owner was real nice, and seemed like he really wanted to make sure he went to a good home.

I was wondering how your guys were doing! They were so sweet when I shipped them last year

Pogue and Tribolet

They are sound and under saddle after a yr off. Wasn’t sure Pogue would be sound enough to ride and am thrilled that he is. Both are doing very well, thanks!

EXCELLENT !!! I was curious as to if Pogue was going to come totally sound or not. I’m so glad to hear that he did  Give them an extra carrot for me!!

Will do!
they are both signed up for the Secret Santa treat exchange too! Power of Music and Man Of Motion are coming here this yr.

Tiger Horse…

…Somewhereinbetween is special. She really needs a home…with you, of course!

You got two VERY nice looking horses! I am glad it worked out for you!

At least I am not the only person who lives in the “Horse Capital of the World” and goes waaayyy out of state to look for horses!

I totally agree…she seemed like a very sweet mare! I think the person who gets her is going to be VERY happy!

I have two fingerlakes finest in my barn - We Need to Talk, a mare that never made the listings - have had her 2 years, and Brime Cai, who has been here since August.
I would have a barn full if I could : )
If I did have room for one more it would be Somewhereinbetween - can’t believe no one has snapped her up!

ooh 3mares - you got Brime Cai!! How neat, you need to post pics, he was a really nice looking guy!!

See I’m busy for a few days, no time to read COTH, and this is what I come back to…

Wings… ahhh… would take that boy home in an instant.

Snatch them up guys! So many nice horses at reasonable prices. My friend who got two FL horses last year absolutely loves them and can’t believe how easy they have been.

Someone NEEDS Rockywithattitude…seriously. Go snatch him up! And for everyone who has responded who is considering grabbing one (or two or three) then consider yourself enabled-go ahead. You need them and all parties involved will be happier once they are home safe in your barn. It’s a win, win, win-you, the horse, and the trainer will all come out on top. Just be sure you update all us COTHers so we can do a happy dance for you and your new addition

Yum. Priced a little higher than the others but wowza he is nice.

Does Rocky appear sound? I am totally in loff with him…

I need another horse like a I need a hole in my head - already working on 2 OTTB’s from the canter site that I have had since July.

But something about him is calling to me.
