Finger Lake Race Track -- End of the Season -- Many New Homes -- Warmest Thanks

Got a thank you back from Richard Z.!!!
Ditto and the man is prompt! I sent an email to Richard Z, Josh Bauman of Karakorum Racing, and Michael Blowen at 2:06 and he responded by 3:18.

He indicated that it was an eye opener for him the amount of genuine caring for an “old warrior of a racehorse.”

Kinda gives you a warm and fuzzy feeling.

couldn’t find any pedigree info on Majestic Heart (there was one but he’s a NZ horse never raced in the US).

there was one other who’s name wasn’t found…can’t remember who it was.

anyone know this horse or trainer and could double check his name?
I tried it with a “G”. Not sure if this is the correct horse…

Got it and replied! Thank goodness I was on the computer this “late”…

Some of the finest raced today. Another Sweetie ran a good second, bless her old mare heart!

Rock and Roll Roan is entered for Saturday…yes, the race went…and he’ll be fine. Rest easy Spyglass! I’ll make every effort to check him out after his race and I’ll get an honest assessment by one of my “spies” in that barn!

Somebody needs to get Ernie Applesauce!! What a cutie!!
http://fltrainerlist.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=988

I can picture him packing the kids around a little hunter course or out hunting!

Darn it! I called Missy earlier and she hasn’t gotten back to me, so I figured they’re not ready for him to be shipped out yet! Please Please Please let him race cleanly! Thanks, Foundationmare, for keeping an eye on him saturday. I will really be interested to know what those “spies” (yourself included) have to say about his condition after the race. Should I wait until monday to have a PPE done, or should I try to do it saturday late afternoon?

On a different note, I called the number listed for “Cope with Three” and haven’t heard back. Does anyone know if this horse is still at the track? If the price is right, I am on the lookout for a trailer buddy for Rock and Roll Roan, or as my sole purchase in case he doesn’t vet :frowning:
Any other suggestions for sound event prospects out of the guys still left?

Cope with Three

I tried to meet up with his trainer this afternoon and missed him. I went to the barn and tried to figure out which horse would be him, but wasn’t successful. He’s moved a lot of horses in the past several days. I’ll check again tomorrow.

For Signals in the Wind, still waiting to hear where he is. I’ll keep you posted.

Spyglass, he’ll be fine! Did I mention that he was my DIL’s favorite horse to gallop? Happy, happy, happy!

Ok, Ok I’ll try to stop hyperventilating! I just reeeally want to take this horse home. I think he’ll look smashing on a cross country course

I’m very happy to see KP and Midnight Secret going to Old Friends here in Saratoga. The farm is only a few miles from my farm, soooo…any time anyone would like pictures of these warriors, let me know…I would be more than happy to visit and take some pictures.

foundationmare: you have a PM

Good idea Louise. Dave is in Florida now (left yesterday) but he’ll be making the trip several more times (don’t know HOW he does it!).

Scratch my earlier post. Oscar has offered to ship the boys to Old Friends! Missy will be on back up if needed.
Yes, we are set and it’s final… The boys will ship out either tomorrow or Saturday. I spoke to both the shipper and to Old Friends.
It is so rewarding to know these guys will have a retirement at last!

I know a lot of people have trucks buzzing around this area and wanted to at least try posting this in here too in hopes of finding another horse a ride to a safe home for the holidays. I decided I really want to give the bay pony colt, on AC4H at the top of page 1 a home. I think it will be a great way to educate my students about the dangers of un-wanted un-trained horses by watching this little guy come along and having an actual face (a sweet one at that) that they know to put to the issue, as all the majority of them ever see is my spoiled, and greatly loved lesson horse crew, and all the nice pampered horses at the shows we go to.

Sent my application in to AC4H tonight, but haven’t heard anything back on the shipping yet to know if this will definitely be a feasible chance to take (I’m a fairly new small business that is finally getting rolling). So I’m a bit limited on my shipping price range, due to knowing everything else that this little boy will need once he comes home, and keeping his own “just in case” buffer for him. I have never hired a professional shipper before, as I usually do my own shipping, so I really don’t know what the quotes are going to be. I wish I could just go get him myself but the truck is needing a long diagnostic stay at the truck doctor before I can take the old girl that far away, and with this time is of the essence.

If anyone or knows of anyone that is going this way, through New Holland than through Central New York to get up to Fingerlakes and has an extra spot for a cute bay pony who wants a home for the holidays please let me know!

Trinityhill, check your PMs…my hauler gave me what I think was a reasonable quote, and she did it on very short notice and she operates out of western/central New York. She’s on the road today (with my horse, yay!), but you could leave her a message on her cell.

And yes, Lucky to Cope left Finger Lakes early this morning and is on his way to Michigan. I hope he likes snow…

Great for the pony, but he should really be in QT if he was at a broker’s lot, not on a trailer with a healthy, up to date on his vax horse. Good luck!

sure they should be in QT but whos to say that other horses on a shipment of horses havnt been quaranteened, etc.

FalseImpression- Should have further specified. If there is someone passing through empty or transporting another horse in the same type of predicament on their way to get to fingerlakes, and would consider it please let me know.

Thanks for the PM danceronice I will give them a call and see if there is anything we can work out.

Anyone interested in helping a 2 or 3 y.o grey (roaning) TB filly? she’s in the kill pen shipping out Sunday i believe, can give her a home in about 6 weeks just not now. Can reinburse for bidding and foster.

ok guys, I convinced the husband to get Take Me Flying! He’s even calling Dave the trainer to organize picking him up on their way down to Ocala!

I’m buying him sight unseen with no ppe (for the first time) so please pray that everything goes well and his not too tiny tiny tiny.

Squee! I want pictures when that cutie is under tack!

And honestly, my “ppe” with Lucky to Cope consisted of one of the track vets doing a physical/external and watching him jog. For $600, I am willing to take a shot.
