I thought Me Me Anna was headed to Virginia?
Aargh. Not sure what the deal is, sorry. She was scheduled to leave this a.m. but I don’t think it happened. Perhaps the new owner made other arrangements. Hope so. Like Stellaspeed said: haven’t heard the fat lady sing yet!
Regarding Me Me Anna. I “think” that the new owner made other arrangements, and she is to leave from the trainer’s barn next week. I’m going to check and see.
That would be frosting on the cake, Louise! Or happy faces on the gingerbread people!
And I can see a lot of candy canes hung on Christmas trees as well as a lot of new presents for the new horses and new owners.
I’m so glad to see so many horses with new homes and people with new horses either in their barns already, on the way, or almost on their way!
Once you get your new buddies, don’t forget that there is a ROLL CALL thread for Finger Lakes Finest that, I believe, Danceronice started. So once your new friends get there, we really do want to hear all about them and as many pictures as possible. This thread has 49 pages already:eek: so there’s no reason the ROLL CALL thread can’t have just as many if not more.
Have they left yet ?
I see on the news that I-90 is closed and that things are horrible up there. Has the shipper checked in ?
Shipper’s ETA to Fingerlakes is 9:45pm tonight
He should be pulling in the track in 45 minutes, driiving through the worst part of it now he said. He said he’d put Lady on first because the ride would be smoother riding up front for her.
I heard they are picking them up at 9:30 tonight and will be on the way to Upperville, I can’t wait
You guys know more than I do! I’m waiting to hear from Ray when he’s just outside of Farmington! Maybe he doesn’t remember that I’m the point person. No problem. I’m going to brew a cup of coffee and head to the track! Woo hoo! Happy times, happy times.
I promise to post as soon as they leave the grounds. Then one quick stop to pick up With Spirit for Stellaspeed.
Addendum
The weather in the immediate vicinity is great. Roads are clear and all. Wicked cold, but that’s not a problem for the shipper. Don’t know what he will encounter south of here.
Anxiously awaiting the “All Aboard” post
Glad to hear the weather has cleared. Almost wish I could hop the bus with the horses and leave the blasted cold weather behind and head south myself

I made a call to our local paper, the Saratogian, in hopes they may run a story on KP. I was a day late and a dollar short as the saying goes. The just ran an article last week on Old Friends at Cabin Creek the Bobby Frankel Division. KP is mentioned in the article. Unfortunately, she didn’t want to run another feature of similar content. She did suggest an editorial depicting how KP came to arrive at OF of NY.
The link to the story is below for anyone interested.

How many horses are on this load? And was it sorted out when Me Me Anna is leaving?
Eee gads!! I hope I’m okay coming in from the east. Weather says clear…leaving at 2am. Pockets will be picked up at the farm next week. Just me, my kiddo, and Silent Reflection making the trip.
Ishi - I don’t live far from you -once your girl is settled in I’d love to come and meet her and you - this has been nail biting to say the least
Take Me Flying is safely home
Somehow, Dave Markgraf got out of the area in time before the coming of the second Ice Age and arrived in Ocala @ 630 AM today, where I picked TMF at 1PM. More details on the FL Finest roll call thread.
BTW - Mr. Markgraf is a distinct pleasure to deal with! Great communication through the whole process of buying and shipping and absolutely candid about this little horse - not a single hair on “the little bugger” (as his wife called him) was misrepresented. He has the feel of a true horseman and his place here was neat and tidy - all his horses that I saw looked well. If you are ever interested in any of his horses, you’ll get the straight dope on them.
And MSJ - I didn’t mention Erin Go Bragh only because I was sticking to TBs/TB crosses. Also, Carol Kozlowski (his rider) is so tiny that he never seemed “small” to the eye: until you stood near him. Remember seeing him at the Genessee Valley HC HT (89-90?); our divisions were apart enough that I saw him gallop by as I walked my course

Whatever became of EquineLVR’s shipment? Are they still with foundationmare? That was Rockywithattitude and Western Buff…did the shipper finally get there?
If anybody has been trying to get through from the west on I-90/NYS Thruway they are probably WAY behind. It was closed from Dunkirk to the PA line, both directions, for around 24 hours. I heard on the news tonight that it is open again, but very slow going due to the lake effect snow.

It’s clear this morning, so I’m hoping that everyone is able to make it safely. Can’t wait to hear about the load that left last night arriving. And, Margie or up at five should be chiming in by this afternoon about the Canada load.
I did get a message from the gentleman who is getting Me Me Anna. He’s picking her up on Monday from the trainer. So she is all set.
Louise, that is great news about Me Me Anna! I was watching some of Somewhere’s races at Fingerlakes (on their website) and Me Me Anna beat her in a few!
passinthru, anytime you want to come out, just let me know that would be a blast.
Just got a call from our shipper, they should be here in about 3 hours. She said Somewhere has been great, all 4 have been hauling well, drinking well, and settled right in. I can’t wait for them to get here and then to meet Stellaspeed.
I hope Up-at-5 has an uneventful trip today too!
