Need Ride for a Finger Lakes horse (or 2) to VA
We’re looking at Go Shorty and possibly one other horse…have talked to the trainer, BUT can’t seem to find a ride to the Richmond area. We can meet anyone anywhere on I- 95 or even the Winchester area. If we only end up with Shorty, and need to meet someone, we will transport a FL horse for someone else from the meeting point to anywhere reasonably close to Richmond…C’ville, Virginia Beach, Emporia. I have a 2 horse gooseneck with ramp. THANKS !
Do any of your FL volunteers know anything about a 17.2 hand black gelding at Purple Haze?
Hey there Stellaspeed! I’m not buying any FL horses this year (unfortunately) but when are you going up and do you think a sweep through the New Holland area of Pa on your way back would be possible? I’m familiar with that trailer of yours :winkgrin: and will need one brought down from PA shortly. Could meet you in Charlottesville, or if you’re feeling extra giving I’m about 2 hours from that area!

Stellaspeed-I am having Live Action vetted, and if that works out, will need transportation for him down to MD. Do you still have a spot available? When are you making your trip? I can meet you anywhere in the MD/VA area, even if I need to drive down to Richmond (only about 2 hours).
I have PMed Louise (please check your PMs soon! haha I’m so anxious!) but anyone else have opinions on vets for PPE at Fingerlakes? Am trying to get it done today, as more people are coming to look at him this weekend!!
FL ride
I’m not driving to Finger Lakes, I’m trying to hitch a ride partway, like meet someone at Winchester, or NOVA with my two horse…I don’t have the time to go all the way and back to Finger Lakes unfortunately ! That said, I would be willing to loan a COTHer my two horse gooseneck for a FL trip, and pay the way for my boy.
For those who’ve bought one sight unseen–what is the procedure when you speak to the trainer? How did you pay for the horse? Prove your money was good long distance?
Also, can the person who knows a good shipper who goes to Indiana please PM me the shipper’s info?

Danceronice, when I bought mine last year, I had extensive conversations with the trainer. She had me send photos of my place and other horses, and talked to one of my friends as a reference of sorts.
Since I trusted her word, I guess she trusted mine too, and I put a personal check in the mail for her which she received after I already had the horse here.
Worked out well in my case, though I cannot guarantee it’s always like that…

If anyone has been thinking of one of these guys and would be shipping west along I-90/80 and would be interested in sharing a ride, pending a PPE, Lucky to Cope is most likely headed ifor SW Michigan in the next week or two (schedule is going to depend on the exam and the trainer–he may actually know a shipper taking a load west and assuming a clean exam is going to check for me.) If so let me know and possibly we could share a ride? Or if anyone already knows they’re headed that way, let me know.
