A true warhorse! Thank you for sharing. I love seeing Standardbreds after their racing career is over.

Me and my main mare doing our first (and last) 1.0m course. Girlie is now retired from jumping so I’ll miss doing this with her

My niece just posted these photos on FB.

These were all taken in the mid 80s. Dr. Pepper wasn’t great with her knees. But she was a perfect horse for us. We loved her. I had her for 29 years and she was never sick or sorry.
She posted them in honor of the Olympics. She is far from horses now, but I went over last night to watch movies, and I showed her the cross country course.

My late IDSH gelding, this is my go-to for him because he was beautiful but always ever-so-slightly worried about life.

My current IDSH mare, she just turned 4 so she is still growing but looks pretty balanced in this picture.

My 31 yo Morgan, he is a pain in the ass some days but I hope he lives forever. Below is us about 22 years ago, when I could actually ride.

I have a yearling ID filly but… she changes weekly and I don’t really have a favorite I whip out of her just yet.

Yea… I’m bumping my own thread but for good reason… NEW PIC!!!

Gotta say I LOVE this pic so much.

My 2015 Tb makeover horse, “Gin Joint” came back home in August after 6 years away turned out keeping his brother company. So now we are starting to do hunters together. This was at a local show at Devon Sunday and it just captures so much of us, time, partnership and all of it.

I couldn’t love it more. <3

Love this thread! I have lots of show pics but I recently got one that is very special to me.

This was taken at the Kentucky Horse Park this summer. It has been a dream of mine to compete there ever since I spectated Rolex as a high school senior. I no longer event, but I still found my way there! I had just finished my round in the adult amateurs and they announced my score, which was the highest I’ve ever had to date. Right after this picture was taken it really sunk in and I straight up ugly sobbed as I exited the ring. Truly a magical memory that I will cherish forever.

Your late ISH gelding looks SO SO similar to my friends ISH mare, it’s uncanny! Do you know how he was bred? She’s one of my favorite horses to ride!

These are not the best photos but too cool not to share! I rode my baby horse for the first time ever last weekend!!! I bought him when he was a few weeks old, and brought him home when he was 6 months. He’ll be 3.5 this December. I’m not as thin as I’d like to be, and he’s not as big as I hoped he would be (fingers crossed there’s still growth in there somewhere!) but this was THE most incredible feeling. I was so worried I’d feel like a giant on him, but didn’t feel too bad! He was the best boy to boot, and I definitely cried happy tears!

Of course! Coronea Loughine was his sire, his dam was JC with a barn name “Mary Brown” but her tattoo was unreadable and I couldn’t find a match in the database for approx age and markings. Coronea Loughine (“Geoff”) put his head on all his foals as far as I’ve seen, and most were brave foxhunters and eventers. He was related through his sire to Custom Made, half brothers. I believe the sire stood mostly in NV after import.

Also, I finally have a fav photo I share of my 4 yo from her inspection last month!! She is a late baby so might get a little taller still, but ohhh she looks good!

Also of my late mare. This was pre-cancer diagnosis.

We had just gotten around our first mini-event XC phase. I felt so unprepared, I didn’t know her well enough to KNOW she was going to jump around. We had prepared a bunch, but you don’t know until you get there right? There was one jump that was a pile of beer kegs, and it was so shiny and scary - I promised her if she jumped it I wouldnt sell her for at least a year. Jokes on me, she had cancer and was unsellable for more reasons than that, but she was mine and I was hers. That mare would do ANYthing for me.
