FUN Topic.....That pic you show off first

Please resurrect freely!
Re: your upthread post:
Good to see you (half)sitting on the sutured flesh again
Gin Joint is bee-yoo-T-full :star_struck:

:pensive:No new pics here.
My (unsutured) butt hasn’t seen a saddle or cart seat for far longer than should be.
No excuses :disappointed:

These aren’t really our best pictures, but they came up first when I looked. This is my perfect boy, Steve, being perfect in the warm up ring earlier this year. We’ve had a bit of a long road to recovery after a stupid, nearly career/life-ending injury several years ago. Working our way back just to the 1.10m has been really cool actually, because I’ve been able to fill in some holes in our training, and he is now going better than ever. He’s jumping a bit flat here, but he doesn’t really crack his back until we get a bit higher. I’m hoping to get him back up to 1.20m (what we were doing pre-injury), and then maybe even a hole or two more than that.

And this is my ridiculous kid Gogo being ridiculous. It’s blurry but it perfectly encapsulates his squirrel brain approach to…well, everything: OMG A JUMP WHERE DID THAT COME FROM I NEED TO MAKE SURE I REALLY REALLY REALLY CLEAR IT!!! :joy:

Official measure was 15.3 and 3/8. She should be close to done, dam is 16.1 and sire is 16.2 is on the nose, I think she just needs to sprout some withers

I hate to break it to you guys, but your 3.5 and 4 year old horses aren’t done growing yet…

She is stunning.

Mine is close tho, based on her parents and her breeding (she’s IDSH, but half of that is QH believe it or not). Like I said, she should pop out some withers but I don’t expect much more.

At least I really hope not. She is broad and deep already and I’m short

I on the other hand am thrilled to hear that, hahaha!

New favorite photo!

Taken at our hunt’s opening meet this past weekend, it means a lot to me because I wasn’t supposed to be riding again before Thanksgiving at the earliest due to knee surgery. Happy day!

This picture will likely always be my favorite! This horse is and was so special to me. We had a ROUGH couple of years when I bought him, he went through 3 surgeries in 2 years. This was our first (and ultimately last) show at 1m, this picture was taken while waiting for the buzzer for the jump off while I’m trying to calm his nervous TB brain! Shortly after this picture was taken we had to retire him early (at only 10 years old) and he is now enjoying his retired life living out 24/7 and getting the occasional trail ride. He was a fire-breathing dragon most days but would have jumped through fire for me if I asked him to. I miss him so much.

Oh, what fun! I love seeing everyone’s amazing pictures!

This is tough! I have 1-200 favorite photos of each horse that’s been important in my life. From my very first horse when I was 12, to my heart horse who packed me around the AOs, to the homebreds I’ve watched grow up and go on to big things. It’s so hard to choose.

But, at the end of the day, I’ve got to go with my heart mare. She’s 23 now, and very sound but mostly retired. As a kid with no money and no access to good H/J programs, I was never able to compete or even ride, at the level that I desperately wanted to. This mare is fancier and more talented than anything I had a right to afford but got lucky. She made 3’6 attainable, and we moved up from the 2’6 in 2 years. She let me go to rated shows and hang with the “good horses” and even have hope for good ribbons.

I’m so lucky to have many wonderful horses over the years. And I still hope to have many more. But this mare is my heart.

I have a pic like that, too. What turned out to be my last show with my TB, but at that moment, the future looked bright.

I may also have a new favorite with my current unicorn!

This is circa 1977ish, but, well, look at my smile!

ET: Little Filly, ‘Marienhof Murmur’, called Little Filly because in the family lore her parents were both Section B and she was a Section A Welsh. **I do not in any way corroborate that fact! It seems unlikely, but questioning my mother is not productive
