A- Safe Sport IS the law of the land.
B- USEF already has a precedent in court (a case involving Barney Ward) that they DO have the LEGAL right to ban someone from the show grounds.
USEF has been REALLY wishy-washy on the guidelines.
I âattendedâ the session for licensed officials.
At one point the President of USEF said that, if you are not going to be within 6 feet of anyone else, you donât need to wear a mask. The example given was a judge in a judgeâs booth.
Then, at the end, the President of the USEF read a statement from the CDC saying that mask was not a substitute for physical distancing, and that, except when mounted, everyone was supposed to wear a mask AND maintain 6 feet of distance to others. He said that applied to USEF shows.
I sent in a question (two different methods) asking for clarification, and have not had a response.
One more thought. In these current times most(all?) states arenât allowing spectators at sporting events. So really no reason for him to be there at all, recognized or unrecognized. Unless someone is going to admit he was there as a trainer for an unrecognized division and not as a spectator.
Doesnât matter if he was a spectator or otherwise. See above reference to Barney Ward.
Here is the statement from the USEF Action Plan:
Require a face mask or face covering for all staff, officials, volunteers, service providers and participants in any setting where there is a possibility of being within six feet of any other individual, and when not mounted on a horse or seated in a horse-drawn carriage or cart.
So the way it was described on one of the webinars, if you are out alone on a cross country course, you are fine without one. If you are in the stabling area with other people milling about, there is a possibility of others being in and out of your 6 ft area so you would wear one.
Also (from action plan): There will be times when regulations, recommendations, guidelines and requirements may differ. In these instances, the more restrictive regulations, recommendations, guidelines and requirements will prevail and supersede all others, e.g. face masks/coverings may not be required by a state or local government but is required at a USEF licensed competition nonetheless due to CDC guidance.
USEF is dealing with a lot of people trying to assert their right to go without a mask. I donât understand the difficulty in having it available to put on when others are in close proximity. I donât think it is being wishy-washy but trying to come up with a plan that fits the requirements of 50 states, competition managers, officials, volunteers, trainers, riders, drivers, etc. etc. has not been an easy task.
Yes, I know. Iâm saying it means the âoops, I was just stopping by, didnât realize this was a USEF eventâ excuse is invalid as he shouldnât have been going to any event as a spectator.
I am reality. The real world. And those of you in your masked worlds are going to find that out. Backyard riders have no business trying to figure out USEF. Face it they canât figure themselves out.
On a side note- do you all think COTH is not editing these pages? How about WEG 2018? No comments ever on these pages. Sub standard housing, endurance [mess] up , and do any of you have a clue?
This cluster is better than Diva!
a) the horse world isnt the real world
B) wtf??? i enjoy a rambling disjointed conspiracy theory even better than most, but could you present fully formed conspiracy theories??
WEG 2018 has itâs own forum. I read lots of comments about it. Seriously stop wasting bandwidth.
Is it Schrödingerâs cat?
Nope. Not the real world there - as far as horses go, anyway. I am very much in it - and I do not see where you signed inâŠ
Re: the bolded. Yes - you lucked into asking the right person!! How fortunate!!! I have many clues to spare - I will happily sell you one - contact me via PM for the going rates - they are priced according to how big a clue you need. So glad to be of assistance!
On a side note: it has been a bad week of horse issues⊠conspiracy theories being peddled everywhere⊠and the BO informing me this morning that she was no longer going to watch the news because she was sick and tired of âthose peopleâ. She was a little more direct than that in her complaints. I am still rather gob-smacked about that conversation and thus not in a mood to take conspiratorial nonsense lightlyâŠ
There is always someone willing to share their ignorance. Today, it is you.
Oreo mom, youâve sadly mistaken many here on the COTH boards as âbackyard riders,â and being without a clue. Many here are quite the opposite, but if YOU are Reality and The Real World, you must know that.
By the way, are you also The One Who Knocks?
Well, itâs actually more about 3, and Iâve lived in both places.
Iâm not sure that I understand the reference made here, but if youâre referring to the WEG 2018 forum, the threads are still accessible for reference via the search engine, but the forum is not set to actively display. We left it up for quite a while after the games, then removed it from the forum list after it had been inactive for months.
Weâll typically reactive that same forum and rename it for the Olympics or WEG so the older threads are easily available for browsing. We should be able to shift it to the Reference subsection instead if thereâs a strong interest from the community.
WEG had a LOT of action in the eventers forumâŠeye rolls
More like Schrödingerâs event.
Just drove it to drop off a retired horse. Took me 4.5 hours. Maybe Iâm slow.
At USEA Horse Trials, Modified (3â5") and above are USEF âRecognizedâ. Training and below are USEF âEndorsedâ. At the endorsed levels, Rider, Horse, etc., do not have need USEF membership (they do need USEA membership). But the rest of the the USEF rules-including those that apply to suspended persons- still apply.
And even if they also offered a âTestâ with no USEF endorsement, the rules about suspended people would still apply to the facility.
Actually most of us remember what we post and we can see if what we have written has been edited, so you are quite wrong. By all means if you want to be paranoid have at it, but youâll have to forgive me for not joining you.
The moderator will edit out foul language in a post (and in the post where it has been quoted) and other violations of forum rules, if it is brought to their attention. Your language is inappropriate. I think the Forum rules are reasonable.
Somehow your original foul language has ended up in my quote of your post. Iâll let the moderator know.
