HEY!!!

kicks forum

Is this thing still on?? I still have many Clues to sell for those who were asking for one - and yet I have not heard a thing. Regrettably, cluebats are no longer available…

So what was the outcome of GM’s little visit? Was he asked to leave or did he have a sudden flash of self-awareness and realize that being there was probably not a good idea…

It’s not as if he could outrun security, though he may have golf cart skills. I can see it now.

I don’t think silly comments about ANYONE’S physical ability related to age is appropriate. There are a plethora of other valid points to
discuss.

I think it’s more a joke about how for the last almost four decades George is a regular clinician known for spending a lot of time in a golf cart. This predates his agedness.

This! Does anyone know what happened?

With a horse trailer, I could see it taking longer. That one stretch of road that is so darn hilly has a high speed limit, but I wouldn’t do more than 50 with a trailer for my poor horses’ sake.
but in a car, you can do it in 3 1/2 hours, maybe even a bit quicker.

Just my two cents about the masks. I don’t believe they can force someone to wear a mask if the person has a valid reason for not. I personally become very short of breath in a surgical mask. Cloth masks are worthless so there’s no point to wearing one. I will wear one of those if mandated in a store, knowing that if I was indeed carrying the virus, it is not stopping me from spreading it, but hey, it makes everyone feel politically correct. Distance and hand washing are your best bets if you are outside. Maybe masks if stuck in a place close to people. Won’t protect you, but it makes everyone feel like they are doing something productive.

I am probably going to be in need of a few clues. Let me know what you have available.

The science on the masks now is very compelling that it can make a dramatic difference in stopping the spread of the disease. In particular, a mask on a person who might be a carrier is the most important part of the exercise. They are able to stop or slow a significant percentage of infectious droplets. There are multiple examples where infected people wearing simple masks had significant contact with others and yet did not spread it. Japan was very successful in controlling COVID this way. There is no question that the first guesses on this were wrong, but time and experience has changed the best advice.

There are people who wear masks all the time for their work who do just fine. They do take some time to get used to, and I’d add that some masks are more comfortable than others. Having something that fits your face will make all the difference in your comfort level. I had to learn this during fire season, because doing chores with the wrong mask was uncomfortable, but doing them without a mask was also exhausting.

The number of people who are medically unable to wear a mask and who also are healthy enough to be out and about outside is a pretty small set, in truth. Please speak with your doctor about it.

Not sure how this thread got to mask wearing, but people need to remember that if you have AIDS, you do not have the right to engage in unprotected sex with another person if they are not aware of your health issues. Not wearing a mask can and will make someone else sick, you do not have the right to do that to another person. So perhaps we can just put the masks on, the same way we put our seatbelts on, and go on about our business. For pete’s sake.

Yes, his golf cart skills having been honed for decades, was the point. Few of us could outrun proper security guards.

Interesting that the post from @eeyore886 that you quoted has disappeared. I was tryng to quote it as well apparently it was deleted , but after you quoted it.

@eeyore886 You have no idea when the sexual misconduct with a minor occurred in this case, unless you do…

It is very easy not to have Safe Sport on your tail. Don’t have inappropriate sexual relationships with minors. It’s quite simple. Not difficult at all.

Obviously it has taken the reality of being kicked out of USEF to bring this to some people’s attention. Behaving like a healthy adult human being is expected.

Don’t break out the tiny violin and expect any decent person to feel sorry for a person that seduces minors, no matter how long ago they did so.

For most of us, keeping minors away from adults that have no boundaries as far as sex with minors is concerned is not a “fad”.

Also dont be a bully, dont promote or encourage bully or demeaning behavior.

This is also part of Safe Sport

That is just the rose on Old Georges cake

This isn’t AIDS, it’s a flu virus. While it may suck to get the flu, it’s not a death sentence for everyone that gets it.

The flu virus is dangerous to those with compromised immune systems. This has proven itself over the last year.

That being the case, how about those people who are susceptible to becoming seriously ill from this virus keep themselves protected by staying home and wearing proper PPE as needed.

I will not be treated like this illness is so devastating to normal people that I have to live in fear if I step out without a mask.

  1. I think GM flouting his ban is a serious issue and I am disappointed this thread has dissolved into general unrelated bickering

  2. For christ’s sake, its not about personal fear! it is about being a decent person and doing your part to protect every member of society, even if you yourself don’t consider it an issue. Do you have no respect or concern for the people around you?

Erm… no, it’s not the flu. A huge part of the issue is that we don’t know who is susceptible, and what makes this like a cold for some people and a life long debiliation for others. There appears to be genetic factors, and time in exposure, and yes, people who are immunocompromised might be affected more, but WHY does that mean we should not care about their well-being?

Something I quote from Twitter all the time: “I don’t know how to explain you should care about other people.”

As for George Morris, there’s no reason he should have been there. He knows where his place is and it’s disappointing there isn’t a better way to enforce this.

Some people think “This doesn’t affect me so I don’t care” Others think “I don’t want to harmsomeone else so I care”

As far as enforcement is concerned…GR706-K makes management responsible for removal of the suspended person

in 707 range all the way up to expulsion of membership and monetary fines

so they need to pull up their straps and escort him out, or enlist authorities to escort him out
