My heart goes out to you Gwen.
Are the police taking this seriously? I hope they are. Do you know?

I don’t normally post here, but I saw the thread in the other forum.
I am shocked and horrified by the violence and I hope ther perpetrator is caught. Actually, I hope someone shoots the bastard.
My deepest condolences on the senseless loss of the foals. I hope the police are taking this seriously. People who torture animals often move on to humans…
the police is not interested as these are “just horses”. They prefer to think that these are all accidents - within one week three foals dead!? and never before?!
They are in the night and out in pasture the day now. The first two evenings it took us almost 2 hours to get them in but now I call “come, come” (in German!) and they come up the hill galopping, just two older Trakehner mares are taking there time by walking and eating apples that have fallen from some trees. They are arriving half an hour later. Since the horses are in nothing has happened any more.
I do not want to post more specifics as actually I am paranoid and thinking that son of a b**ch may be reading forums too.
It is very sad that I have “my own thread” on the chronicle forum because of such a horrible desaster happening…I wish it was for some nice news.
I’m so sorry Gwen.
I just can’t believe that the police are not concerned about this.
The whole thing is just so sad and so terrible.
I’m hoping that things improve for you.
It’s truly sad the authorities see no connection in animal killers/mutilators/torturers, and the move to people. I think that’s a BFHD here in the US.
I am so sorry you have had to go through this. Nobody should EVER have to, under any circumstance. It truly scares me to think there are people out there that would do something like that to another living being, ESPECIALLY a baby. Hugs to you, Gwen.
Gwen I’m horrified the police won’t do anything. I think you are being very sensible keeping a low profile and bringing your horses in at night.
If you don’t have a dog it might be a good idea to get one. I’ve always had rescue dogs and find that they tend to be very loyal and rather territorial, regardless of breed. Its as if they know how bad life can be and they are so happy to be in a stable home they will look out for their owners more than dogs who have not had any instability in their lives. We’ve currently got a Staffordshire Bull Terrier and she’s the perfect guard dog. Barks like mad at strangers but good as gold once she’s been introduced to them.
Unbelievable the police won’t do anything to investigate this more. It seems like some kind of sick sacrifice or “black magic”, devil worship with putting a stake through the horse after killing them!!! I hope they find out who is doing this sick and mad torture to the horses!!
Didn’t the earlier article suggest it was someone who may have a grudge against horse owners… wonder if there would be a way to get those affected to meet and try to get down to the lower common denominator. Bet its someone they all know… you know, the kindly neighbor who likes to give carrots to the horses.
The police should take it more seriously for the simple reason that a large percentage of serial killers start with animals first before they move onto murdering humans. There is a direct tie to animal mutilation and a fixation that leads to murder, look at Jeffrey Dahmer.
I will never understand why the police officials don’t crack down hard and investigate thoroughly all animal abuses and killings like this one as it would save people’s lives.
I’m so sorry that Gwen is going through this and I wish that there was more action taken. If the local officials won’t take it seriously then I’d alert the media, at this point escalation is sort of moot seeing as three foals have already been killed. If I were on a neighboring farm I’d sure want to know and want to be on the alert.
I hope nothing more happens Gwen. The police are crazy, foals did that to themselves? They must be related to the cougars with opposable thumbs…
I agree if you don’t have large dogs, get a couple. One dog can be silenced quickly but two not so much. They need to be loose around the barns/paddocks.
I hope the people who did this crawl into a pasture with some very mean tempered bulls.
I am so sorry for your losses Gwen. I hope the mares are coping the best they can & you as well - I can’t even begin to imagine what you’re going through.
I live on a farm that’s on a dead end road with only one neighbour. Often teens think it’s fun to drive down the path at the end of the actual road. I always worry that one day the wrong group of teens/drunks/whoever will come down and do something to my ponies. Hopefully it’s just a fear that won’t ever become a reality.
I’ll be thinking of you and your 4 legged kids!

My thoughts too. That was no accident.
I’m very sorry this is happening to you.
My heart goes out to you Gwen. What a nightmare. I can’t believe the police are not doing anything about this!
I pray this will be over for you soon.
It is a shame the police think it isn’t important. Scientists have proven that serial killers start with animals then go to humans. I know one thing… this person(ppl) are sick
The occult or devil worship rarely enters into things like this. Usually it is some sicko(s) who get off on such things or simply enjoy doing them because they are useless wasters of oxygen.
Gwen,
Haven’t been on the boards in awhile and just saw this. I’m SO sorry! Are you still in the castle or did you relocate? That seemed like such a pleasant location. I just find it appalling that the police won’t take it seriously. I do hope you’ve seen the last of it and that your next ‘thread’ will be happy news!
It’s the most heartbreaking and despicable act I could imagine. Considering how large the horse industry is in Germany with the State Stud, large breeding farms, etc. I would think they would be up in arms about this incident and get the police more involved.

Nevermind serial killer profiles…
Why wouldn’t the authorities see these horrid acts as a threat to Gwen’s personal safety? i.e. a warning, so to speak?
There really are no words to express how awful this is
So what would happen in the US if a horse owner defended her horses with a gun? Probably varies state by state.
