Folks, I just want to say how amazed and touched I am. I just PM’d 35 people who offered to help this old mare!!! Even if it’s only a dollar or two, each drop in the stone soup helps her get to a new forever home.
I have tears in my eyes, that so many who will never even get to see this old girl in person will reach out to help her move on “home.”

Let’s hope the parents knew about this mare being for sale in the first place, or it could get hairy.
It’s amazing to me that a group of people from all around the country can pool resources and work towards a common, wonderful goal. In a world where negativity reigns supreme, things like this are so uplifting and reinforce faith in the humanity.

Shoot. I clicked “other” under the personal heading. I’m sending in two batches as I had to make a transfer. On the next one I will be sure to pick “gift”.
Update: One person’s donation had a fee taken out of it, and the other ones that have come in haven’t had a fee taken out. I’m not sure why one did and the others didn’t, but if someone who knows more about paypal could weigh in that would be great. How do you have to send it in order to avoid the fee, for anyone else who wants to donate?

If it is a big deal, you can always refund the payment and the person resubmit it as “gift” (the no-fee option).
When you send the paypal payment, click the “personal” tab and click living expenses and no fee will be taken out. If you do it as “goods”, it’s a business transaction and subject to a fee.
We are at $75 already! Donations have come in from Tiramit, spacytracy, Long Spot, WoofNWhinny*, and runNjump86 already!

it’s not a big deal at all, more of an fyi. I think the fee was like 59 cents. Mostly wanted to give folks a heads up. :yes:

I was under the impression that PPal took a fee for anything under $50. Gift or not as I did find out.
