This is great. I’m good for lunch and gas/diesel. It is always a good idea to let the local sheriff know when you are going into unchartered territory. A deputy can stand by just in case. We don’t want to lose any cothers (well, none of this thread!) and there are weirdos, weidoes?, out in them there woods.
She’ll probably be just a “normal” horse. But I always wonder if the old used up horses were once big time show horses or racers. If she has a tattoo, we must decipher it.
I too wonder what her history is.
I hope the folks who are selling her are willing to share what they know about her.

Not sure a simple horse purchase requires the presence of a deputy or even putting them on alert. It’s Remington; not Deliverance.

Kimball, that’s still fine w/me (or if JSwan would rather go, that’s fine too!) for Thursday. However, alittlegray mentioned earlier (post 208) that she would go (w/Timely Impulse - or, I’m assuming whomever is going to pick up the mare) since she’ll be the one paying for the mare.
How ever this gets worked out works for me. I just want that mare in her new home ASAP so she can get what she needs. 
I’d volunteered to trailer if the other people can’t make it. I was pm’d last night and verified I would be available to trailer. I guess we’ll just have to see what alittlegrey decides to do.

Ohhhh I hope alittlegray has news for us from the owner!!! That’s what scares me about kids posting things for sale…sometimes the parent’s have no clue until someone rolls up looking to buy whatever was listed!!!

You guys are all great to all go offer to get the old girl. Pushing her on a trailer will be fun if she doesn’t load well. Of course she’ll probably be so happy to leave, she’ll jump right on there! Oh right, take some grain and something to put around her rump to help load. I’ve had to lock hands with a vet to load someone else’s horse, and that is not easy to do in the middle of the night.

I am a retired deputy sheriff, so firepower isn’t a problem.
Absolutely great! You never know what will greet you when you are to take money to an unknown location. And with meth these days, ugh, people are crazy. And not everyone is a nice person. Craigslist set ups for robberies here are rampant.
You guys rock…having a hard time keeping up with the donations! Here is an update, and I know there are a couple more so i will update again in about 45 minutes.
I have confirmed dribble from ride4life, tbkate, equine studies, salar, falseimpression, sanely eccentric, and danceronice.
I also have two donations with no screen names, initials ah and sh. I will go back through pms as soon as i get DD in bed and try to correlate, and update again with what has just come in.
Last I heard from seller, she is going to let me know what day/time works best for her parents for us to come out. The email she responded to was the one that said “cash in hand” in the title, so I don’t doubt she will get back to me. But please keep in mind it is running her around 24 hours between emails so she may only have internet access on a limited basis. PLEASE be patient with me while I try to pin her down.
I will absolutely update everyone as soon as i get the next communication, and you all can decide who is best to do the trailering. I am happy to meet whoever does it, and go from there.
I am so happy to see everyone come together and it is outstanding what the members of this board have done here. Can’t wait to give you all a final tally of what has come in today!
