If she does, let me know.
Fingers crossed! If this does work out, could the OP please edit the thread title to âPaypal address in post XXXâ. I can send some funds, but donât always have time to page through the thread for the paypal info.
thanks!
I am so psyched about this and keeping my fingers crossed it all works out!
Yes please! I can send my little dribble to help this old girl. Jingles that it all works out!
We donât have a super fancy place, horses donât care if there are fancy chandeliers hanging from the rafters. We got lots of turn out, a big warm stalls, and plenty of grain. Whats really nice it is quiet, very little traffic, and we have great horsey folks next door. We watch out for each other.
Bluengrey, that sounds perfect! So glad you stuck around COTH.

This is great! I hope the mare realizes when she gets on the trailer that she is in for a great old age retirement.
She may need a blanket. Someone measure her when she arrives at Bluengreyâs farm. I keep getting all the âgrayâ and âgreyâ 's confused.[/QUOTE]
Iâve got an extra turnout sheet that I would be happy to donate to her. I believe it is an 82, I will check tonight. Things are very tight in the $$$ department, but I can at least contribute a sheet for the old girl!
Oh, and I am pretty stoic but this thread is making me misty-eyed. Way to go, COTHers!!
Did you see that thread where the woman had her horseâs stall decorated with a clock and all? I donât think the old mare will need too much, just shelter and food and knowing that she wonât starve. And having a farrier in house is icing on the cake!
OK Iâm off for the night. Post the paypal address for whomever, I have alittlegrayâs paypal, so if it is different let us all know. Then we can all send the $ early tomorrow morning. Hopefully a trailer can be arranged, or weâll wait till Carolprum can get her Saturday.
And of course we need pictures! Now and then later when she looks good.
Offers of blankets are just as good as offers of money. Once her size is known. We should actually have a âfree blanketâ for horses-in-need thread on coth.
Horses donât need super fancy, but quiet sounds perfect! I, too, am excited to see this coming together.
Now we just need an email from the seller
OH NO! How on earth will this mare live without carpeted trees and her own personal time clock?!
BnG, just the fact youâre offering this old girl a home makes you a hero to me, even if her health means itâs a short-lived home. Iâm sure sheâll be grateful.
And I have one request pleaseâŠonce Her Ladyship is settled in and has a full tummy, could you please flip her lip and take a pic of her tattoo? As an OTTB lover, I think she has an awesome story to tell us!

Will do! And Iâll shoot a PM out to let everyone know.
I am SO impressed with how COTH stepped up on this one!!!:yes:
I have a brand new sheet I can donate, but it probably wonât fit a Thoroughbred, itâs a 72 or 74 (havenât looked at it for a long time). But let me know ⊠if sheâs a little girl, or not really an OTTB, it just might fit. The owner said in her email that the mare had raced in the past, so most likely in this area that would mean a TB, but, who knows, she could be a Quarter Horse or Arabian.
DeeTB, good idea on checking her tattoo. Maybe weâll be able to find out exactly who she is and some of her history. The girl who emailed me said that the mare had belonged to her grandfather before he passed away four years ago.
Kimball said she could trailer the mare on Thursday or Friday afternoon.
(Carpeted trees! Bwahhaahaaa! Yes, I saw that thread. Hard to forget THAT picture.:p)
Iâll be checking for the paypal info too. I can picture her in her warm blanket, all settled in. Just holding my breath that it happens.
I have a few extra fly sheets of different sizes. I can send one that will fit on to Her Royal Highness if it looks like sheâs going to be able to enjoy a summer at Blueâs place (which sounds just perfect, by the way.).
Just saw this threadâŠif she needs to be trailered earlier, I can do it Tues mid morning, Wed mid morning, or between 9 am -1 pm on Thurs or Friday. I only live 30 min away from Opal, but need to factor in being back home in time to meet my sonâ s bus.
Jingling that she is still available. I so hope she is still there, and they will let her go for the $100 or maybe less. I will be willing to send something a little later in the month- not much Iâm afraid because I have horses here that need extra care due to their age.
