How about a matchy matchy fashion show thread?

You could always go for purple fuzzies - I can’t find a picture from the front or side, but my friend’s Hackney goes in a fuzzy purple breastplate and breeching (maybe not what that part is actually called):

I try to stay away from the fuzzy protective stuff, with all the sand and water hazards, I figure it’s just an opportunity for irritation if (when) sand gets trapped up there and nobody makes a pad that fits the breast collar I use, but it’s leather lined and padded so it doesn’t need extra padding. (Yes, that is the breeching in your pic)

But I probably am sticking with the purple vests + shock green shirts for most marathons. I’m betting the black+green flame shirts are not going to look so great with purple (but I haven’t put them together yet), so maybe black vests for those shirts, and since those shirts seem a bit warm they might not get used too often.

Interrupting this matchy party to share that I found another use for my Mattes pads…

I love your black, green & purple combo.
I am very curious - please share pictures of your dressage phase outfits!

Here’s two of my favorites (everything’s the same except the jacket)

And here’s two others, different aprons, and I’m ordering a new hat to go with the lighter one, another big lid, but black with copper and dark green accents.

While we all live the matchy matchy game, driven dressage is where it still has real impact. We are down to 2 collective scores, and one of them is general impression and presentation. MATCHY MATTERS!!!

Fantastic! You both look amazing. Out of curiosity, was there anything in the picinic basket? Maybe some goodies for after your test? :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Nope, strictly decorative! Goodies (aka “alcohol”) are back at the trailer in the cooler.

You guys are the worst. Before this thread I had bought like two new saddle pads in the last 5 years and now I have a whole stack. The problem is they’re so nice I can’t bring myself to use them…

Finally today I broke out this PSOS pad in Light Sand, which has trim about the same color as the Pikeur Isalie jacket in Caramel (https://www.thedrillshed.com/us/2023-pikeur-womens-isalie-show-jacket-151500-541-light-caramel-p-5916.html)—and my youngster’s tail:

Looks fabulous! That’s one of my favorite colors.

You deserve to use them!

You & your horse look great! Use your fancy saddle pads and enjoy them! Don’t save them for special. If you are worried about dirt & such, why not scotchguard them first?

A slight update –
I caved and bought this set:

I should get it in a few weeks.

As an aside - does anyone know where you can buy a pair of BLACK full seat breeches with the full seat part being leopard print? Does this exist yet? Or, if it doesnt, how about black full seat breeches with cognac colored full seat? I’m trying to find an outfit to match the cognac/leopard print Halter Ego Bridle I bought last year.
