Thank you! Very helpful! Now I only wish the PSOS weren’t $40 for shipping!
Ahem… shipping is free if you order $200 worth … which is not hard to do!
Though I have no collection but I’m a fan of vests, and particularly at shows where jackets are waived. In Florida that can be often, so I resorted to a light stretchy thing which looks tidy. Back in my hunter days I had a trainer who insisted on showing in coats “It’s GROSS to see people’s sweat” and this concept stuck with me low these many years…
Very helpful! Why are the Ogilvy so long?? I have an Ogilvy square pad for my show pad and it’s enormous. It was okay when I had bigger horses but it looks like it’s eating my girls whole now.
Time for a new thread……
“Who lives near me and wants to combine on an matchy matchy saddle pad order?”
NO! I do not need to be enabled!
Technically, it could save me money though, right? I won’t try to reach that free shipping amount on my own…
Ugh I know! I absolutely love the material of the Ogilvy pads and the cut, other than the length. But they’re so darn long! Though, looking at the photos made me realize why it doesn’t bother me so much in the Kentucky and Ogilvy pads. They don’t sit as high in the front like the PSOS. I can fit a whole hand width and them some in between horsey’s withers and the top of the pad. I appreciate some wither clearance, but that’s just excessive. And makes her look even more downhill than she already is
That’s very pretty.
I just spent the weekend convincing myself that I don’t need to buy a copper jacket…this isn’t helping
Hahaha yep!!!
Looks super! Love the matchy matchy top!
I just got this email and have heard I’m not the only one. There is some sort of issue either with Hufglocken or with Mattes and the two are no longer working together. Production times were always at least 3 months with assembly in Poland, shipping for final assembly in Australia, then posting to the US, but I’ve always gotten my pads. Great pads, great prices. However, I’ve seen a lot of complaints about production times longer then that. So whatever happened, you can no longer get Mattes pads from Hufglocken. Their website has changed as well.
I got the same email, and am really disappointed. They are great pads, and I had ordered back in November! I can’t believe it took them two months to realize they weren’t going to get their orders
It always took 3 months for me to get a pad so I feel like that is not out of the ordinary and I know they’ve reached out to Mattes about late orders. So I’m not sure if they were hoping for issues to get sorted and they never did?
I wonder if the good sales they offered put too much of a load on Mattes?
Edited to include this
Where are you getting your custom pads now that hufglocken isn’t an option?
Also, any other dealers have sheepskin pads on the bottom only, nothing on top?
I am in Canada and I have sometimes ordered my matchy stuff straight from LeMieux (shipping/duties/brokerage fees can really take the wind out of your sails though, even when you find a great sale on their website!). I have also ordered lemieux from canadian stockists. Depending where you are located you may have better options. I’m in the Canadian prairies so for local stores I just have greenhawk. I order a lot online. Some favourites that stock matchy sets are Apple Saddlery, Bahr Saddlery, Victoria Saddlery, and I’ve also gotten a few things from On the Bit Tack and Apparel.
Aside from LeMieux I have one Ogilvy friction free pad and am considering purchasing a couple more. My one pad was purchased in person at Spruce Meadows last summer (free embroidery same day on site!) and I might consider others as it’s simply a white pad. Check out the ogilvy website, they have LOADS of colour and sizing options. It wouldn’t be hard to create a matchy-matchy look with an ogilvy pad and other brand bonnet/polos/tops/coats.
