I know this wasn’t directed at me but I have a QHP black velvet pad with sparkly accents. The quality seems ok. I’ve only used it a few times and washed once. So it still looks new. It’s just a really longgg pad and was ridiculous on my compact horse. Current horse will probably suit it a bit better though!
thank you! I had a CC pad from them a while back and it was a bit large. Mine all have super short backs so that’s good to know!
The pad is velvet and I’ve washed half a dozen times, looks like new every time. The boots are plush and wash well too - the entire set was $60 ! Looks very high end, I highly recommend.
If anyone purchases the new PS of Sweden tartan pad and breeches, would you mind reporting how they look and fit? I have a collection of about twenty pads with roughly six matching boots (different styles) and a whole host of matching breeches, and I don’t need another set. This is all for one horse, I might add.
That said, I am so tempted because I love tartan and I love PS of Sweden. I also don’t need to spend $400 on breeches and a pad (or do I?).

The Bordeaux looks absolutely stunning on your PRE!
That’s one of the absolute best colors from ES.
that’s so cheap!
I looked at those breeches too. Very pretty on the model.
I think I need to lose 15lbs before I wear skin-tight tartan pants, however. Maybe by the time I do (who am i kidding?), they will be on sale…
The breeches and the pad together might be a bit much. Except maybe they’d merge together visually and you wouldn’t be able to tell where the rider ends and the pad begins, which would solve my 15lbs problem?
This is the best review I’ve read of them! So much tartan and the wandering eye can’t tell where the rider is and where the pad is. I also need to lose weight, so I think the visual you’ve made is spot on.
I have a pair of Equestrian Stockholm breeches, which thankfully do fit me, but I’m built like a squat Welsh pony, and not a tall, beautiful Warmblood like all of the models. So, they don’t really look pretty on me, but they do the job.
Ooh, if the tartan saddle pad goes on sale, I may be in trouble! I also really want their denim insignia pad, but just won’t pay that kind of money for a saddle pad. I’m safe from the breeches since I require longs. As an alternative, I’m sure you could find a tartan top to go with the pad for less $$ - here is a polo that would work: https://www.glenmuir.com/catalogue/ladies-quarter-zip-animal-print-performance-golf-polo-shirt?ccid=223&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAiA1eO7BhATEiwAm0Ee-D46Oe63QZrCQgdkmTa9Q5CBGWOAgmF1aHxoqYROI6M68JwhJgGpaRoC-HgQAvD_BwE#tartan_navy_l
Oh that’s a beautiful pad. That I also don’t need…
I’ve been playing around with a different type of matchy matchy… My newish marathon carriage is, um, shockingly green and I it. But it’s been a challenge to create a match matchy ensemble. Our shirts are closebutnotquite, ditto the sneakers (but the back strap on the sneakers says “just so so” so they are keepers. But I’ve been thinking about helmets. I have a one k with the replaceable chevron, rail and centerpiece. Naturally my GREEN is not one of the options.
So I got to thinking maybe I could make my own…
I have to say it came out shockingly good after some trial and error (which mostly ended up with it peeling all off). I then decided to make a more sedate dressage version!
This is the marathon version. The center piece is a holographic black with an overlay of a matching holographic green, in real life it is a lot more obviously matching the chevron/rail in the sun, but in the shade it is just mildly sparkly/gloss black, so kinda cool.

He’s my sedate ridden dressage (or driven cones) version (on this one I bought the rail since it was on the right color)

And here’s my marathon carriage (in action) for full match effect
I love the shocking green! Next step in matchy matchy can be changing the cavesson to lime green beta… .
Probably not because I swapped out all my driving headstall cavessons to big, padded leather dressage cavessons, and they are so much nicer/more comfortable than the driving ones, so I’m not going back even for piping . Also, all the beta colors yonnies has? No matches. Lime green? Not a match. Neon green? Close but no cigar. The struggle is real, but at least now I can drag the helmet along because by God Walmart has a matching craft paint (close enough, I wouldn’t use it for touch ups but otherwise closer than any other green found to date).
Love it! Maybe a matching browband?
Do you have an instagram or a Facebook page so I can follow you? I adore your setup!!
Do you provide the lime green shirts for your groom and/or gator?
Lol, asking for a friend? (I’ll get you out there!)
Shirt and sneakers! And purple safety vests/hunter green helmet back when I used purple and hunter green. Since I switched to black and bright apple green everyone has a black vest but I may need to pick up a spare black one just in case.
So I get anxiety if I think too much about trying to match things, whereas so many of you seem to get joy from it. However, I love matchy matchy, so I plan well ahead. This pad has been sitting in my closet since 2023 waiting for a clinic to match my boots. It’s an ES Emerald in cob sized because my legs are SHORT. And since it has navy piping, blue and brown combos in my clothing worked well. You can’t really tell, but my cantle is faux croc as is my cavesson, then my browband has all the right colors in it. Also, it was our first outing since state championships in 2023, because I’ve been battling health issues. Nothing makes you look better than being lucky enough to have a fantastic horse who gives you delusions of grandeur.
Thanks! I’m biased, but I agree
