How about a matchy matchy fashion show thread?

Sultan was my DH’s heart horse… unfortunately we had to say goodbye to him a couple months ago (age-related, and after several years of spoiled retirement… but it’s never long enough), so looking at old ride photos is bittersweet. We can only hope to find another half as perfect as he was!!

Y’all are giving me flashbacks to my Sleepover days, when none of the other girls wanted me to do their hair :sleepy:
Stodgy is my middle name.
My colors were/are navy or burgundy with gold (not metallic!) piping, at my wildest. :smirk:
But…
I admit to looking at a mini-sized earnet…with tassels
Didn’t buy it, but I wanted to…a little.
For him:

i understand about looking at photos…it is hard. One has to steel themselves up for it. He looks like an absolutely amazing guy…seems quite keen. Sorry you lost him, glad you got to share his life with him.

YOU GUYS, the “wild grass green” pad and polos arrived and I think they are going to coordinate beautifully with my preexisting shirt, sweater, and belt.

I was already looking forward to this clinic but now I legitimately can not wait.

stunning!

I cannot wait to see this ensemble in action!! Where did you get the pull over (is it a riding shirt)?

The pullover is a $30 sweater from Dover.

That is going to look fantastic!

I thought of this thread today and dug out the fly mask / saddle pad combo I had in the trailer. I even put a few wildflowers in his hair to fully embrace the inner child. Sorry the pictures are not great quality!

You definitely need to post pictures! This is going to look utterly fabulous on you both! Aren’t you so glad you stepped over to the “dark” side with this matching thing?!?

LOVE your combo!!

Well let me know everything that looks good on grey so I can get some more ideas for the Tiny Grey Arab you’ve generously helped me outfit!

A follow-up to my matchy matchy comment above:

I have a Halloween hunter pace coming up and this year Holden is going to be a Unicorn. The rose in the photo above will be part of the ensemble. Any ideas for matchy matchy outfit? He will have roses braided into his mane and a black unicorn horn.

Ok matching the lawn furniture and shutters to the bonnet and pad is a tad bit much, don’t you think?

Our matchy matchy games is strong on marathon, but still a work in progress in dressage (ridden, we are above reproach in driven dressage). I have a cocoa/cream/black crystal browband, an espresso ear bonnet, espresso jacket, a near perfectly matching pad and … Yeah, it’s the breeches that are killing me. Espresso breeches… Gets lost in all that dark brown/black saddle. Tomorrow the ES champagne pad should be here, maybe lighter pad/dark breeches? Maybe give it up and keep with white? I’ve been torturing myself on this one for a while because I have a healthy hate for white breeches. Fortunately driving season is rapidly approaching and I can focus on 3 phases of matchiness and I have a new set of purple marathon boots AND ES olivine boots for cones that match my presentation carriage perfectly, right down to the black lining. The heart sings, I tell you. Sings.

Here’s a pic of our marathon matchiness. What you can’t see are the driver/gator matching purple shoes and matching purple corgi socks (it’s a firm rule, the corgs MUST represent, I even have a fake antique corgi brooch for my formal outfit)
