How much is your endurance horse worth...now?
Hey Hunter, wanna tell her how to find my photos???

Unlike your Kool little Junior High School “gang”, I really don’t give a horse’s patooty where your photos are, or how to find them 6 months later.
You’re just not that important…(no offense)

Aw, Hunter, I didn’t know you cared!!! And I wouldn’t ask if A2 hadn’t suddenly decided I might not even have a horse. I sure wish my vet bill didn’t know I have four. And the farrier. And the hay guy. AND TSC. And and and…so in my BEST 7th grade screech: But she started it!

katarine, you need to fix those links. Nobody will believe your have horses (or wear a helmet) otherwise.

damn, are they broken? I’m copying old threads since I can’t get to any of those places from here…I’ll tinker with it after dinner, and after I feed the beasts I don’t own. My husband is going to be SO surprised we don’t have any horses !!!

Wait, do I have to prove I have one of those, too???

And she just keeps digging…

So you never sell your horses, yet with absolutely ZERO experience in marketing she declares AGAIN that any sound, working horse can be sold for $20K.

Yet you don’t breed, you don’t sell, and obviously don’t know squat about the market, yet you STILL persist in making these ignorant statements. Why?

What in heck makes you such an expert? Now, I guess everybody has a right to an opinion, since opinions, I’ve been told, are like a$$holes…everyone has one. However opinions from someone who has never done “IT”, can’t do “IT”, and doesn’t known crap about"IT" are worthless, don’t ya think?

You know, the fact that you are so completely wrong is clear to everyone on this thread – you would gain alot of credibility if you finally realize it yourself, back down, and THINK next time you feel the urge to comment on something you know little about.

I’m done – I’m not a big fan of an COTH gang-up, so I’ll back off.

But (for the future, Vickey) – NOTHING is more annoying to those who know how to do something than advise from someone who doesn’t.

Next time your speedy fingers fly to the keyboard to express your “expert” opinion – stop and think. Do you REALLY know what the heck you are talking about?

And, I assure you, on this topic you DO NOT!
Instead of obsessing over every little detail of my life and my horses, how bout you show us all what YOUR horses do?
For the love of Pete please please please stop posting about every little thing that happens to you and no one will know! It’s too simple! You post inane drivel just as much as another poster here does, but she has a valid reason for her keyboard diarrhea. Haven’t you figured out yet, hasn’t what the mods have been telling you sunk in? Don’t start nothin’, won’t be nothin’!
Why don’t you wannabes get a life and start acting like adults. Gosh, do you all have that much time on your hands? Very desperate, hateful souls:no: I really feel sorry for you.
Why don’t you go find a dead stork to cry over? If you can post here so can anyone else. I don’t understand people who post in a thread telling others not to post. What the hell is that? You’re posting in it too, are you too simple or something?

For the record, since I saw my name invoked here–
concerning the video to which A2 refers, I had first seen reference to it when A2 spoke of how terrifying it was to watch.
I asked k for a link, and viewed it.

I was underwhelmed, to say the least.

What I saw was a plain vanilla training session.
No horse trussed up like a Christmas turkey, in danger of falling or dragging the trainer, etc.
Just more evidence of your run of the mill A2 hyperbole.
I found it less worrisome than the footage A2 posted once of having her horse pull her around on some sort of sled.

Carry on.

A2 writes:

I feel I could get 20K for my horse if I marketed her properly. Most people could. Period.

For those reading this thread who are not Endurance riders: I would like to assure you that there is no way that she could EVER sell her horse for $20,000. This has to do with the current market, of course, but more importantly, she is a complete unknown in the Endurance world. She does not breed nor train endurance horses for a living and has only completed one actual endurance competition herself. While this is a great start, and I wish her continued success with her mare, I’m getting really annoyed with her stubborn insistence that, with the right marketing, videos, etc., she could sell her horse for so much money. None of us can!

And because she continues to insist on this, plus writes things like

I’m convinced some of you don’t even OWN horses. Being that I’ve never seen a single photo or video or any kind of proof whatsoever…

she further undermines herself and makes herself sound anything else but the professional horsewoman she might actually be.

A2, I would very much like to take you and what you write seriously but sometimes you are making it very hard. Just because people decide to stay anonymous for personal and/or professional reasons and don’t share photos and video of themselves, doesn’t mean we don’t own horses or ride. Come on!

ok last one, I’m crying with laughter.

This is me, #343, on a horse. Please advise whether or not this video proves I own him or not. Thanks!!!

Its Ground Hog day! And it feels like it – reading this thread. Uncontroversial thread starts. A2 responds inappropriately, everyone jumps on her, she digs her hole deeper and deeper. :sigh: Same old, same old. I stopped bothering a year or two ago, but it’s a slow night.

So I’ll pause to take offense at the following – condescending to trail riders on the TRAIL RIDER FORUM. Harummph.
…And please, post more pix of your loose horses being “used” as trailblazers, and “used” to move roundbales, and being “used” as the backyard trail horses they really are…

So katarine, How much is YOUR endurance horse worth, right now? That was the question. Oh oops, you don’t have one. You’ve never been within 100 miles of an endurance ride. I forgot…

(Kat’s quote about being a trail rider and training in dressage)

Ahhh I see.

Well I’m back from my holiday, nice and sunburnt!
Amazed to see so much action on this topic, but I think it’s a fairly important topic - for those uf us who breed endurance horses, and likewise buy them.
I agree that rider/breeder reputation plays an important part in the pricing of endurance horses. - that however as I’ve found is a sword that can cut both ways. Several years back, we went and bought a quite expensive supposedly ‘made’ cough horse from a well known endurance barn in the States for my father, who had just retired his long time partner. By the time all was said and done, it was over a 10K USD purchase.

He’s done a few 50s here, but his nickname is Alpo, and he can be quite dangerous to ride. Now, to be fair, this is just one horse, but I came away from that experience as the horse being bought on the barns rep was entirely the incorrect thing to do.

The prices of endurance horses I think ought to reflect a bit more correctly what they are required to do, however yes … any horse in the barn can do LDS, or should be able to . I think it’s possibly more important to determine what level of horse we are talking about. I bred for high level 100 milers, racers, not amblers. Course most of my bred/sold horses are normally doing 50>100s, when I look them up on AERC, plus of course a larger majority have other jobs, do CTR, etc.

Sorry this is ramblin, two weeks of surf, sand and sun, not to mention the margaritas makes ones brains melt into a nice slushy cosy pile:)

Good post! I’m going to ignore the crap slinging by those who obsess over me and my every little move on the internet and just get back to the topic…

Anyway, as I said earlier, I have inquired on 2 supposedly made endurance horses that were in excess of $10,000. One of them had horrible conformation. I mean horrible. The kind of conformation that makes you wonder how the horse even walks to the water tank every day. The other had this little habit of bolting and then bucking until he successfully unloaded his rider any time the pace was too slow to suit his fancy. At least the seller was up front about it, but geeze. Both horses were both listed as sold shortly thereafter so somebody bought them. Unless the sellers slashed their prices in 1/4 whoever bought them paid way too much. The one with the conformation problem wasn’t worth 500 bucks in my opinion. But in somebody else’s opinion he was, and that’s all that matters, right?

But again, that was my point. Find the right buyer, and you can make some money.

I’m going to ignore the crap slinging by those who obsess over me and my every little move on the internet and just get back to the topic…

You’re too busy to play patty cake games, but not too busy to:

A call me a hillbilly
B tell GLS she doesn’t have horses that aren’t Barbies
C Disrespect MP’s knowledge of Arabs, which BTW, would be hysterically funny if it weren’t so pathetic
D disregard the input of the actual endurance riders on this forum
E disrespect trail riders in general

You know horses in harness wear blinkers so they stay focused and aren’t distracted by what’s beside and behind them. I’m not at all sure what you call it, though, whena person lives in mental blinkers, seemingly blithely unaware of the roll they play in the essential trainwreck that is their everyday.

Do you see the absolute stupidity in your posts?

And if A2’s posts bother you that much, here is a clue… Stop reading them?

Boy it seems like a few of the kitties are in heat today…lol Try Midol, it might calm you down.

H2, there are lots of experienced, knowledgeable horsepeople here. I especially appreciated Lieselotte’s response.

A2 insists she’s one of them (experienced and knowledgable horsepeople), when the facts as reflected in her posts and numerous retractions/edits indicate otherwise.

It’s there for all to see and read. A2 is a laughingstock. Surely she is an embarrassment to the genuine endurance and competitive trail riders here.

LMAO  I hope you feel better now. I answered the question - what is your endurance horse worth now. Not sure how that makes me a laughing stock and an embarassment. Because I said I could sell my horse for 5K tomorrow? Or because I said that a horse is worth what a buyer is willing to pay - and that any normal sound horse COULD bring 20K under the right circumstances to the right buyer? I never said that any crappy old arab could bring 20K as an endurance prospect, but that’s how my posts have been twisted around. I never said that at ALL or anything even close to it. What I said is that if you take any nice sound horse and put them in the right place, at the right time, with the right people, that horse could bring 20K under the right circumstances.

That’s my opinion. Everything else is just hyper inflated bazooo by the same clan that’s been following me around for years. The OP asked a question and I answered it honestly. What MY horse is worth today. So if you’re not interested in staying on topic and answering the OP’s question, why are you here? These trainwrecks always start when the same clan jumps in and starts twisting everything I said into something I did not say. The same people who are obsessed with my every move and every word. Year after year. So predictable, so stupid, and so boring. If I said the sky is blue, the same clan would turn it into a train wreck. But as long as it’s allowed I guess they’ll keep doing it. So, whatever.

Keep insisting. We heard you the first, third and twentieth time.

Sure, ANY horse can fetch 20K ANY time – if you can find a person stupid enough, wealthy enough, in your neighborhood at the time.

I’d have better chances getting hit by a meteorite.

The way you people ( I am being generous) gang up on each other makes me sick. Maybe if you spent more time with your horses their behavior would rub off on you. I feel like I am in first grade. I enjoy reading these forums for the help and insight you can find. I guess you need the high school drama to make yourselves feel " special". I hope you treat your horses better than you treat each other.
