BTW, if you need a beta tester…pick me, pick me! :lol:
Not sure if this has been resolved but I’m still having an issue editing posts. Have tried using both Chrome and Safari on a Macbook Pro.
Alterabc, try using Firefox. I’m able to edit the normal way using that.
In case people haven’t read the following posted earlier;
To avoid double posting when you get the “wait 30 seconds” window do NOT hit “post” again. Close the window and refresh the page you will see you post/comment on the thread
To edit or quote right click on the button and open in a new window.
This works for me using G Chrome
- these ‘fixes’ unfortunately do not work for all posters / systems • !

Doesn’t work for me in any browser on my computer or tablets (Win 10, chrome, firefox, ie; Silk on Fire tablet; chrome on Samsung tablet) but does work on phone (chrome on Samsung 6 Edge.) Seems suuuuuuuper dependent on platform.
ANYONE can quote though, like I’ve done above, with quote tags.
That’s just this:
{quote}Copy paste what you want to quote{/quote}
You have to replace the { } brackets with [ ].
(I wonder if code tags works on this platform…letsee…)
> stuff you want to quote
Yeah, code tags work but not like I expected. Ignore all that jazz at the end of my above post, since I can’t edit it out from here.

I use firefox and things are not working for me.
(My way of saying that there has to be more to it than just firefox.)
If you sift through all the threads on this issue, yes, the problem in on the Chronicle side and they are aware of it. Due to planned future upgrades, it sounds as though not many resources are being expended on “fixing” this problem.
It’s getting OLD
Copying from another thread:
Apparently they’ve been working on a totally revamped main site/forums for a while, unbeknownst to some of us. Then we were hacked, so they had to upgrade the current site’s software platform to guard against future attacks, which I believe introduced the glitches we’re experiencing.
Because they’re expending a lot of time, effort and resources to build the new site, I gather they don’t want to do the same to troubleshoot all the glitches on the current site, which will soon be obsolete…which is a big hassle, but basically understandable, at least from my perspective.
I suppose in the end it’ll make us all appreciative of all the days when everything works like a charm and we don’t even think twice about it!
Thanks for your patience. Hopefully, in the end, we’ll have an even more secure site that functions even better than it did before.

The part I am sure you and the IT staff are not necessarily looking forward to is the learning curve we’ll all go through when we switch from this software to the new software. I suspect there will be at least one difference that we’ll all have to cringe over and get used to
Computers, they sure can make life interesting at times :lol:

Oh, absolutely not. Hahaha. Yes, understandably, anytime we perform a software upgrade or change the site, we have period of “adjustment” and there are inevitably glitches that arise and need to be addressed. I’m sure some will hate the changes and some will love them. Hopefully, in time, everyone at least will get used to them!
I’m pretty sure, though, that once we get everything functioning, the new site will provide some features that are pretty universally appealing. We live in hope!
Thanks for your understanding ~
Mod 1
Mod1, for me the “understanding” is the been there, done that, worn out more than one t-shirt in my career
Nothing like being on the track heading toward that light and knowing you don’t get to get off (maybe take a well timed 4 week vacation to some remote South Pacific island with no cell service???)
yeah … still can’t edit or delete with either Safari or Chrome. (Mac) Haven’t been able for a few weeks, & not today either.

Read up thread a few posts, the post from Mod 1.
We need a projected date for the new site before we go more mental than normal out here!
Oh, Velvet - do you REALLY think that would help? That’s like asking a mouse to pee on a forest fire.
I’ve been (mostly) away for a few years, and I come back, and it’s still the same.
But more literate than Facebook, at least.
I’m using an old IPAD with safari and have no trouble editing. What is my secret you ask? I turned JavaScript OFF.
