Mr LS had struggles with this too. It really sucks
I know this is…woo…but have you thought of some sort of blessing or purifying ceremony for the house? There’s been so much negativity on the property for so long, it might be helpful to kinda…clear that out and start fresh?
Fingers crossed that things start improving, you’ve been through so much already!
I have no kidding been thinking the same thing. I’ve been looking into smudging with sage. I was originally holding off until we got all the seller’s sh*t out of the place. Mainly holding off now until my sense of smell returns. Because ya know, fire, etc. I’ve said this 101 times but it is so weird to have your sense of smell totally gone.
I don’t know if you have CVS pharmacies where you are, but here I found that CVS did a great job with testing. Even in this new rush time they had some openings within a day of wanting the appointment and there were lots of options for locations (that also had appointments).
We do and up until the past couple weeks they had lots of appointments.
Now they were the ones saying their closest appointments were in NoVa.
Also, oddly, many of their pharmacies were listed as temporarily having no testing available yesterday (instead of no just no appointments available), including my local CVS. I don’t know what the deal with that is— lack of tests or lack of staff or what?
I think school starting here is what has flooded the pharmacies statewide.
Sorry to hear that @Texarkana.
It is weird that things changed so much in just a couple of weeks but I bet you are correct, the whole back to school thing probably is part of it.
Send Mr Texarkana out to pee on the survey markers. It’ll get you through.
Hanging a humsa (looks like a hand with an eye in the palm) or two wouldn’t be amiss.
I was planting mums in my front yard yesterday when the neighbor’s kid came out their front door complaining about needing to get a COVID test. My county had 1500 kids and staff out for testing in the first week of school alone. My own family is expecting me over on the Eastern Shore this weekend, visiting with my antivaxxer cousins and their unvaccinated school age child. I’m thinking I’m going to stay home.
I have two here- one in the barn, and one in the house. They were brought back from Egypt for me. I’m a fan!
I have some from Jerusalem!
Does the peeing thing really work? This forum sends Mr. Texarkana outside to pee on things with surprising frequency!
I had no idea what the hand and eye symbol was or meant- thank you for that recommendation!
A sage smudging kit is also on its way. Mr. Texarkana is not on board with the idea. That’s his problem. But I do need my sense of smell back.
Wave from the car if you decide to head this way!
It’s hard to know exactly how high our community transmission is, especially if others have hit testing problems like me. Although the county we are moving to had 107 new cases last week. You know how few people live here so that number is
Is there a point to getting tested when it sounds 99.9% likely that you have COVID? Maybe find an appt for 10 days away and maybe it will be negative then?
Work.
They want a test result and they want me back if it’s negative. They don’t care that the state issued them a letter yesterday saying I should not return to work until the 29th due to close contact with a positive case and multiple symptoms. My work place policy is no need to quarantine if you are vaccinated and test negative.
I’d be afraid to not have it peed on. I’ve done it myself at places with more privacy. But I’m just a bumpkin from the swamp soooo……
The humsas always make me smile!
Definitely priority on getting your sense of smell back!
The horses will bring good juju with them when they come
I’m feeling for you @Texarkana. I’ve been watching the numbers at “home” rise and know those numbers are falsely low - a lot of folks are refusing to test - don’t have to believe in it if you don’t confirm you have it! Antivaxxer cousin just posted another ridiculous thing on FB last night and I cringe for the folks whose kids have to share a classroom with her kid. Keeping my fingers crossed for you. I’ll wave from behind the double masks I’ve decided I’m wearing for the weekend.
On the other side of that same coin, @Horse_Rider, are the people who insist they have it until they are tested and it turns out they did not.
I did not insist I had it, but I got tested when I came down with flu symptoms (temperature, body aches, upset stomach). Negative for Covid. Just a boring 'ol flu or such.
(I am fully vaccinated, I wear a mask, and heck, I get my flu shot every year too.)
Wait - what is this peeing on survey markers? Can someone enlighten me?
I agree, get that bad juju out – only way to do that is get a new horse and bring the others home! They’ll clear out the negative vibes real quick.
Let me tell you about my horse, Abby…
How is Dear Abby ?
