In memory of November Rain

POOR BETH MCKANN HORSES

Yes I know this horse as well. It was donated to Beth mckann of Nobodaddy farm in PA. It was given to her in much better condition. She runs a non profit organization called “rainbow connection” and when she takes these donations she is suppose to care for that horse for life. obviously not the case. Casey Mckann was the last to show the horse, and it was to be returned if they could no longer use him. What a shame people trust things like this. I’d like to know where all the other really nice old athlete’s she took are and how horrible their lives ended up. Then I’d like to know how what Beth Mckann is doing is legal.

Let’s keep names out of this thread!

When the horse arrives at Tazar’s (THANK YOU!), she can tell us more about the horse’s freeze brands, etc, so it can be positively identified.

Meanwhile, let’s not name names of people who may or may not have done something wrong. Not allowed unless verified by a guilty verdict in a court case.

Thanks! And we want PHOTOS ASAP!

Dux Arrived Safe And Sound

BIG TREMENDOUS THANK YOU TO ADDISON, FOR BRINGING DUX HOME. I cannot thank you enough.

Dux arrived around 3:15 this afternoon, and walked off the trailer like a champ. He settled right in and set to letting us know what he did and didn’t like. First things first, he tossed the 1st cutting hay out of the stall, and settled down to munch on the 2nd cutting.

We had a small “welcome home party”. Ang, Dux thanks you for the cake! He loved all the attention everyone gave him, and hammed it up gladly for the cameras. Ang is so much better at getting photos online so hopefully she’ll share soon. I have a few, but, I am technologically challenged when it comes to posting internet photos. It will happen, I just cannot promise when.

The vet thought he looked great after a long trip and we’ll be doing a more thorough exam tomorrow. For now, we just want him to relax and be comfy.

For good measure, we’re probably going to treat him for ulcers, just to make his transition a bit smoother.

He loves treats and is a gentleman about them. All is well in Dux’s horsey world this evening.

Thank you to all, for everything (especially my troublemaking friend who brought Dux and I together).

Good night!

You guys ALL just rock!!

Tazer, I’m gonna PM ya, but give me a shopping list of stuff that he needs, and his sizes. HRH Avery would, I am sure, be MORE than pleased to have some of his stuff go to another grand old champion!

So nice to see that this guy will be loved and given the care he deserves!! This whole story made my night!

I, also, wanted to say a Big Thank You, Tazer, for bringing this boy home to you to live out his life. You are a true horseman!!!

This is such a great thread, thanks so much to Tazer and all the others who helped save this guy.

On another note can someone translate the foreign show results for me? =)

i am typing from my phone and i will type more later but his results are very good at a variety of top aust shows. Like royal shows and world cups.

I knew a few people inquired, thanks to the in-house teenager, here is a copy of his original “for sale” ad that had been posted.

Edited to show link to yesterdays photo, and the original sale ad, in one album:

http://www1.snapfish.com/thumbnailshare/AlbumID=264449546/a=11885983_11885983/t_=11885983

This has been a wonderful story to watch unfold. Tazer you are a very kind and generous person and Dux is very lucky to have you.

You can only post images if you are a premium member. You can however, attach a link to your photo. Generally, there will be a “link” address in addition to an “image” address. Copy and paste the address that says direct link or share url. I use photobucket instead of snapfish, so I am not sure if snapfish uses the same language. Your good link will start with “http://”

I can actually take the http portion of your link and remove the “>” to get the first photo, which is of the original ad. COTH has a link assist at the top of the message section, it looks like a globe with a paperclip on it. You click that and paste your link there like this:

http://www2.snapfish.com/slideshow/AlbumID=258381147/PictureID=6491438039/a=159060700_159060700/t_=159060700

Now anyone can click on that link and see the photo.

This is one of the few threads I have actually kept up with. Thank-you Tazer for taking this old fella, he was very lucky to find you!!! Good luck to you both!!

I just found this , what a lucky horse! Thanks for taking him in.

Deon Williams rode him at WEG 1998, Rome and members of his family have been notified about his current situation. Mr. Williams is at a show so hopefully he will respond when he has time. It would be interesting to find out how Dux wound up in the United States.

There has been some discussion about how a horse such as November Rain wound up in such poor condition. Obviously more than a few people are culpable. There are more constructive ways to spend our time rather than trashing BNTs and other people on a puplic forum. We need to spend more time reacting to such situations in a meaningful way. In other words-do something. Donate to your local horse rescue or offer your time to help care for these horses. There is so much to be done-they need as much care as as our own pampered animals.

That’s enough from me. I will step off my soap box now.

Tazer- don’t thank me- Thank You for giving this horse a good life. I so enjoyed meeting you and your friends yesterday-such a wonderful group of quality people.

How did someone figure out his name is November Rain? I’ve looked back but I can’t figure it out.

A gal named Veronica IM’d me, to say a prior owner recognized him. The prior owner contacted the person they gave the horse to, and that person looked at his picture and recognized him also. I wound up on the phone quite a bit that day, talking with several people, confirming markings, transfers, etc.

I also called USEF to find out where his last owner was, and all they could tell me was Palmyra PA, which was enough to confirm one connection. Then the Australian registry gave me what they had.

These kinds of threads are my absolute favorite and one of the reasons I love the COTH BB so much!!!

Tazer you are the BEST

I’ve been away from the boards for a few days, and of course this is the only thread I’ve hit this morning. I am so please to hear of the recent events. Thank you everyone for your love and support and Tazer, you are Dux angel.

So as soon as I saw the name I Googled it and this is the first link that I found: http://www.pedigreequery.com/november+rain

Back to Google I go…

That’s all I can find right now.

Thanks Party Rose…

But that is not the same November Rain. I’ve been googling my heart out and anything that I’ve found I’ve posted here. The bulks of the results were for the Guns N Roses song titled November Rain.
