I just get very angry when I see that video and read those bogus excuses for it.
I wonder if the previous owner didn’t regret not having him put down that day in the vet clinic. I know I would.
Some fates are just worse than death.
anyone save this video cuz it definitely disappeared
Saving it may be in order then. Funny how things like this become a mean old “rumor” in the blink of an eye.
Anyone save the video?
Thanks
Someone get bored and want to start up an old thread?
The “video” as you put is was part of a set of DVDs, no longer avaialable.
Copying, duplicating, posting violates copyright laws, so not available.

It’s a shame. The more people who see that video, the better.

Why is video in quotes?
thanks for share good sharing
I once watched Pat Parelli lay down a horse. I was angry tempted to leave and become a PNH naysayer. However, I watched it thru…it was explained and big warnings…not to be done except by an expert. The horse was ‘laid down’ carefully, he was not afraid just defiant. He was released and got up with a different attitude about humans. He was not afraid but now respected that the person was the leader.
I have seen horses abused by conventional trainers, slapped around with anger and dealt with unfairly. That wasn’t the case in any Parelli demo or clinic I have seen. Disclaimer here, I haven’t seen the particular Linda video but I have seen the results.
Frankly, I had horses a long time before Parelli and ONLY went because Karen and Bruce Davidson were with the Parellis in FL MANY years ago. I have successfully used many of the techniques and the knowledge about reading horse behavior gained has given me confidence to deal with horses who would have been sent down the road and some that HAD been sent down the road by others. I even bought the rope halters which work much better with very slight pressure than any leather halter even with chain.
So take the good points, ignore the razzmatazz and that can be said for ANY trainer.

Conveniently swept under the carpet then.
No the law.
http://www.copyright.gov/title17/
from:http://mason.gmu.edu/~montecin/copyright-internet.htm
What is Copyright?
Copyright is a form of protection provided by the laws of the United States (title 17, U.S. Code) to the authors of “original works of authorship” including literary, dramatic, musical, artistic, architectural and certain other intellectual works.
It is not necessary to have a notice of copyright (i.e.: © 1997 Jane Doe) for material to be copyright protected in the U.S. Once something tangible is produced, text, graphics, music, video, etc., it is automatically copyrighted. Sound recordings and some other property use other copyright symbols. Anyone can use the copyright symbol on her or his original work.
“The Internet has been characterized as the largest threat to copyright since its inception. The Internet is awash in information, a lot of it with varying degrees of copyright protection. Copyrighted works on the Net include new s stories, software, novels, screenplays, graphics, pictures, Usenet messages and even email. In fact, the frightening reality is that almost everything on the Net is protected by copyright law. That can pose problems for the hapless surfer.”

Does the law mandate all Parelli copyright videos on YouTube be removed? Or just the ones that Parelli would prefer people not to see? How convenient.

Another one that has not seen the videos.
Or maybe someone that thinks clueless bopping around the head and violently clunking are acceptable horse training techniques.
The Company (Parelli Natural Horsemanship, Inc.) has Youtube remove ALL videos produced by Parelli Natural Horsemanship, Inc. that are not posted by them.

Not convenient, again the law. You may have a hard time understanding that and maybe not like it… so be it.
There are people that have purchased the set of DVDs and have them. Go find one and ask to watch.
Bluey you keep bringing this up. Is it your “cause” post to make the “animal rights” posters on here think you are on their side?
from another thread
Bluey - You’re well-known for being against animal rights,
For the record, I don’t believe animals have rights.
No violence in the video at all or abuse.

Those videos happen to be what we ARE discussing here, if you have not noticed.
So what if the horses were not beaten senselessly and their limbs torn off one at the time.
The violence there is not that kind of abuse, but still objectionable.
Those “educational” videos are VERY - BAD -TRAINING.
Shame on those parellites that are still not apologizing for that sorry example of training video as those were.
People will not learn until they can tell the difference between good training and very sorry examples of training.
We have explained why those were very bad, much less as used to teach how to train horses.:dead:
So they could post the Barney video in part or whole if they wished. They don’t wish. I wonder why!

Exactly, Parelli are using intellectual property rights in an attempt to determine what people see and don’t see. Obviously that is their right - but it is also convenient in the context of unwelcome scrutiny.
There are people that have purchased the set of DVDs and have them. Go find one and ask to watch.
Someone kindly loaned me their DVD set a while back. I watched the whole Barney episode, plus Linda’s “pep talk” that went with it. Seeing the whole thing in context did nothing to persuade me that it was an appropriate way to handle the horse - quite the reverse, in fact.
You are welcome to your opinion, but opinion is not fact.
Opinion does not make it fact.
guess we’re starting this one back up… because some can’t get enough of Parelli.

If you were walking down the street and some of those carriages that cart tourists around had a balky horse that was not backing and the driver got off and started bopping the horse over the head as LP does in the one eyed Barney video, or clunking him violently, as she teaches on the hitching rack and then they practices on those horses, that driver would be yelled at as an abuser and the video of that would be all over the animal rights sites as terrible abuse.
Do you really think that, because that is LP and on an educational video, we need to give her a pass and say it’s ok, she is not drawing blood, so what, let her bop and clunk at her heart’s content and teach others how to.
Yep, that is my opinion and evidently that of many, many others all over the internet I am aware of.
That ought to give any parellite pause, not keep insist “the world is wrong, parellites are right, that is a perfectly fine way to train, good example.”.
Well I have the video. I could host a Barney party.
Maybe we could start a trend-pass Barney forward?
You know what? Clunking a horse around the face with a big heavy clip is abusive. FACT.
