@Laurierace and they are beautiful! When/if/maybe before I get a horse of my own, I plan to buy one.
No, my daughter asked to hand them out but they said they were limiting the number of people allowed in the ring. Still pretty thrilled that our stuff is in their hands now. We got the cream of the crop for sure and our stuff is going international now!
I think Boyd needed a world class individual result, and I am glad he got it! I think it’s interesting that he didn’t have many horses across all the divisions - just one each in the 3* and 5*.
I think I missed it above, but what is your brand? I’m always on the lookout for nice halters!
Just thrilled for Boyd and Chris!!! Can’t wait to see Cue’s kiddos coming up. Both Cue kids are by Trakehner stallion Rusticus who is now gelded and competed jumpers with an AA.
Boyd sure did deserve this one!!! He’s been deserving of a big win like this. I’m also just thrilled for Chris! She is such a supporter of our sport and wonderful person!
Not sure I am allowed to say, I will PM you.
Please pm me too
Could you PM me, too, please? Not in the market myself right now but gift-giving season is upon us!
How fun that must be. Well done!
I’m happy for you.
I mean, the Canadian riders don’t have a coach, a program or (with the exception of Colleen Loach) the financial backing to acquire outstanding horses. It’s completely unsurprising that they don’t have top placings. This is an awesome, well-researched blog post for those who are interested: https://www.emilyholmesequestrian.com/blog/archives/07-2021
I don’t think I’ve ever seen JP come close to making time on a 5* (other than on Exponential, who I seem to remember was fast, but I’m too lazy to verify). But I do credit her for knowing what she’s sitting on, how much they can handle and going slower to keep her horses alive. She seems to really get the best out of each horses and Watson GS is looking like impressive in all 3 phases at the 4* level. Melissa Boutin is an amazing rider with some really nice horses that consistently do well. And I still keep dreaming that one day Stephanie Rhodes-Bosch or Rebecca Howard will have a top horse again - they are such good riders.
I really, really wish these male riders would stop removing their helmets for awards presentations. It’s a stupidly old tradition (much like top hats) and women don’t do it, why on earth are the dudes STILL taking them off for the victory gallop?
Seriously, Boyd, it looks bad to say you’re an advocate for always wearing a helmet but not wearing it 100% of the time. Keep your goddamn helmet on - no exceptions.
Major League Eventing podcast was a big supporter and sponsor I believe, and probably had an exclusive deal to cover the event?
Says your profile is hidden when I tried to message you.
@Laurierace Could you send me a PM as well?
So happy for Boyd!! This has been a long time coming for him! And I always love to see a mare on top!
Can someone just tell us once they find out? We all would like the opportunity to support one of ours
Thank you! That looks wonderful on him. That is the Remarkable Lite in case anyone is wondering. The prizes were the Lovestruck halters and lead shanks.
Who are you addressing?
Those who wondered why Equiratings didn’t seem to be covering this event. Major League Eventing was at the event, promoting it beforehand etc. Listened to one of their podcasts yesterday with the event organizer and they talked about their involvement.
