The fence that interests me is the Maryland rails. There are not many upright fences in eventing these days and the gates at both Badminton and Burghley can cause problems. We shall see. It’s exciting to have a new course

I’m so surprised CC doesn’t start until 9!! I’m sure I remember having earlier ride times than that.
5* times have been adjusted, first ride at 12:20

Awful. I don’t know whether it’s possible to educate people about the proper use of the flash, that its purpose is not to crank the mouth closed. There should be rules against this kind of abuse.

There are. The FEI has them in place and I think most national bodies now do. It was partly a response to pictures of nosebands as tight as Nick Gauntlet had that one. I do think it has become less common. The fit of bridles is a particular hobby horse of mine.

Elinor McPhail and Zick Zack just fell at the second to last fence. It looked like he was having a hard time getting up
