Buck is looking fantastic!
okay, somebody needs to get Buck a new helmet cover. it looks faded compared to the red stripe on his arm.
I was just thinking that. I just double checked and she is entered on FE Lifestyle at Badminton.
What a save by Calvin
I think Badminton. He said someone was watching to see if he would get in.
I am just a happy lower level rider, but running 6 minutes on a 5* XC, then flying to England to try another 5* two weeks later …
OMG Calvin! I never saw the horse’s hip touch the ground…
I was wondering the rule exactly on if that was going to count as a horse fall.
That was quite a save by The Phantom of the Opera.
OMG Phantom!
What’s the rule, as long as the horse’s shoulder and hip don’t touch the ground it’s not a horse fall?
This might be unpopular, but not really a fan of having your horse fall to its knees (but doesn’t have it’s shoulder hit) but you get it up and keep going.
Shoulder and/or hip was my understanding. They’d pull him up if it’s ruled a fall, or is that not the case?
Correct - and his ticker on the scoring page doesn’t show any penalties or elimination.
I’m surprised the frangible on the back of that triple bar didn’t trigger. But he did just sort of belly across, I guess?
I would think - or at least hope, at this level - that they would pull him up promptly if it was an elimination.
I laughed out loud at Jon’s “STAY IN THE TACK!” comment.
From the interview with Jung, it sounded like he is the coach for Calvin and Phantom. I wonder what he’s going to hear about this afterwards!
Phantom of the Opera is such a good boy. Still going bravely after that!
I’m iffy on whether I would have kept going if I were Calvin after that-although flying from Germany…I kind of get still going along.
I tend to agree and the next combo being the ditch worried me but the way the horse got up it was like he hardly realized what happened and is still looking very forward.
