Kentucky 2025

There was a Ralph Hill clinic where I boarded, and I was too broke to sign up, but I rode over to audit it. His enthusiastic shouting really unnerved my horse, to the point that he started rearing! Made me glad that I hadn’t signed up to ride.

Ralph’s stories were legendary.

Are the golfing in Georgetown? You are better off going into Lexington for breakfast and getting a ride from there. Georgetown only has chains and like one good restaurant.

They’re planning on golfing at Kearny Hill with a 7ish am tee time. I told him he’s for sure going to get paired up with other horse husbands :joy:

We’ll see what time they end up getting and go from there. I’m A-OK with eating breakfast at a chain restaurant if it avoids driving in.

Couldn’t the guys drop you off at the park. There should be vendors. I’m thinking the one in in the bldg east of the stabling office serves breakfast?

ETA There’s all new stabling since I’ve last been at the park so… where the office used to be?

Just posted - looks so bare not decorated yet.

There are usually 4-5 breakfast vendors at the park. They might not ooen until 8 but you can wander the cross country

Although I’m not sure I’d want to be dropped off at the entrance (it’s quite a walk, and quite a walk back with bags) there are several breakfast vendors open at 8am. When I camped last year I partook in the crepes daily.

The gates open at 7, so if they got a slightly later tee time they could drop you off at the horse park & you could be first in to start shopping.

But in the volunteer manual it gives some answers to common questions & one is:
Q: Can I get a taxi/Uber?
A: Yes, taxis/Uber are allowed to pick up passengers at the National Horse Center in front
of the Pony Club building.

If that helps you at all.

Interesting that the coffin (a nice true ABC) is only fence 6! I know horses at this level should be used to coffins, but I’m sure it will catch a few out. I love the look of the Hollow and the down bank after it.

Also who knows when this video was taken? It could have been a few weeks ago before editing and it wouldn’t make sense for the decorations to be up yet.

I don’t think anyone is saying the decorations should be up already, they’d all blow away with this weather we’re having!

I just switched on You Tube and the course walk is going on. Not the official one but Samantha Clark and Derek(?) walkin and talkin. Will I be able to watch it on You Tube this year?

I haven’t been in a few years, but do they have big screens to watch out on course like they do overseas? I will have my mom with me and not sure how far we are going to want to walk.

They have a big screen in the shopping area inside the All Tech (Indoor) Arena with tables and chairs right in front so you have a place to sit. Lots of great shopping there as well.

They have a big screen in the trade fair vendor area, another right at the XC entrance by food trucks, and they usually have one in the middle of the course.

They might have it streaming on the Jumbotron in the stadium as well but I don’t remember 100%.

Anyone know if there’s a USEF subscriber discount code? I feel like we usually get one around now.

USEF/Clip my horse stream is free;
As a USEF competing member, subscriber, or fan, can I still watch USEF Network livestreams for free including full screen?

Yes. USEF competing members, subscribers, and fans can still watch USEF Network events for free while they stream live, including full screen.
