That’s not the Altech. The Altech is the other side of the park near the preferred parking. Dont think much goes on in there during the weekend of the event.
Covered Arena in center across from Rolex stadium. Where the Trade Fair is.
Alltech Arena in NW corner
- IT might help if some posts were edited to eliminate some confusion
Correct me if need be. The handicapped parking is by the Alltech (the shuttle runs from there) and the preferred parking is in the Main Parking lot. The yellow area on the SE side is the hike -in parking
It’s been awhile since I’ve last done this weekend. I can’t do the walking anymore p.s. and for the food options isn’t there a sit-down service restaurant by the Alltech area now?
Shoot I KNEW I had it wrong! Sorry!
There is a Jumbotron in the Covered Arena in red in the almost middle of the map.
I’ve had a USEF fan membership since 2018, specifically so I could stream this event. I think I opened it around this time and went to check my membership status to make sure I’ll be a member so I can watch.
I can’t find anywhere on the USEF site that tells me when my membership is supposed to be renewed. I don’t set it up for auto renewal because I don’t do that. Anyway, I’m logged into clip my horse and USEF and assume I’ll get an email telling me to pay up when it’s time. I know it’ll only be a few minutes to get it done, but I’d hate to be having to do that during cross country phase.
Hoping someday soon, I’ll be able to go in person.
It’s been awhile sorry but yeah we need the facts. TKS. I am surprised they gamble the weather, but probably better on seating since this has grown in audience.
I think they change the parking every year just to keep you in your toes. I’ve never been told to park in the same place twice.
Okay peeps it’s KENTUCKY WEEK
I’m having FOMO watching riders/vendors/etc getting to KHP….even though I’m driving down on Wednesday
You have to renew the fan membership every year.
I never have paid. I don’t ride anymore, and have gotten a free subscription to watch. Just sign up.
We’ll be there on Friday and I am so far behind reading all the media leading up to this week! I have loads to catch up on.
Should I have cash on hand? Or do most places have square, etc.?
I have not run across a cash only vendor in YEARS.
All the vendors take cards (and some are card only) but be forewarned that if you have a card that is finicky about fraud alerts, it can get triggered because the charges show up as being from the vendors’ home-base locations all over the country rather than being in Lexington! My sister has had to call her bank almost every year when she starts buying things!
It’s always good to travel with cash, but idk of a single vendor who doesn’t take credit cards.
I like using cash for food because if it doesn’t show up on my credit card/bank statement….that means it was free
I still find it super irritating that only the live stream is free and you now have to pay for replays. As someone who’s 14 hours ahead of Eastern Time, it’s not exactly feasible for me to watch it live.
I plan to bring some singles this year to tip the folks manning the bars and food stalls. They do have their Venmo info posted for tips but I think I’d rather just use cash for that.
The bourbon 4 star !! – Makers Mark, Elderberry liqueur , apple juice and ginger ale!!
Oooh that sounds amazing. We always stop by the Blade and Bow cart for New Old Fashions.
