Her parents are incredible.
I just wanted everybody to know that there is an update on Laine’s blog from her father. He does say that she has been told about Frodo but didn’t elaborate.
She really is doing amazing!
Just reading his update made me cry. She saw the answer to the question about Frodo in her mother’s eyes. He goes on to say that nothing could have prepared her for the loss but her current condition makes it worse.
I do not know them personally. I am just a fellow horse lover. My heart goes out to them. She’s going to make a great recovery but I cannot imagine how hard it is for hew now knowing for sure that her beloved has gone.
how brave

That entire family is so FIRST CLASS. They will all be fine. You can tell. And I mean mentally and spiritually, not just Laine’s physical issues. Such a brave brave girl.
Laine you are loved by the whole equestrian community. And I know its a cliche, but God heals all wounds and you will be whole again.
RIP Frodo…
PS CAN’T THIS THREAD BE MOVED TO THE TOP LIKE DARREN’S IS?
thanks to everyone for keeping this tread going and for it’s purpose. You guys are great. I am sure when Laine reads this, she will be very happy to see who is behind her. A long road for her, I am sure. So keep up the moral support. Frodo is going to be the #1 thing for her. It will be a while until she can fully comprehend what has happened, so lets all give her nothing but the best well wishes so she can mourn the loss of her best friend.

Well said.
Oh man, oh man, that poor kid. Many jingles for Laine and her family; they are a class act.
It seems like she’s doing so much better…but I can’t even begin to imagine what she’s going through having just learned about Frodo. Hang in there, Laine!
I just found the video of her fall. Wow…very disturbing. I took the link out as requested. She is very lucky to be alive, glad she is going to recover.
It’s great to hear good news!
It does sound like she is doing a lot better and I know they will be glad to get back to their Virginia home.
She is very blessed that she has family (mom and grandmother) who are not only emotionally supportive but also financially able to stay home and care for her full time at the Virginia farm and still keep the bills paid. Family support is truly a blessing in a time like this.
They sound like great people !
MandyVA - the family have requested that videos/pics of the accident be taken down. If you could delete the link I think it would be greatly appreciated by Laine and her family (take into account I am not speaking for the family, but this is the sentiment I’ve heard on this board and multiple Facebook groups).
On the bright side, it’s great to hear Laine is doing so well! It sounds like she’s going home soon. Still a long road to recovery, but what a great step!!
She was in the local Richmond news too. Not only are riders pulling for her, but residents of the area are too. I hope this hasn’t broken her spirit. She’s a very visceral person who loves life.
According to her Mom’s post today Laine is being released tomorrow…what wonderful news!! well on her way to physical recovery, I just hope she can heal emotionally, cant imagine how hard this must be…pulling for her!!!
Laine was just shown on the 5:30 pm news on Lex18…their lead story was her release from the hospital today! She looked really good, especially considering what she’s been through…she was wearing a neck brace but she walked out of the hospital under her own power. She thanked everyone for their support and said she can’t wait to get home and “hang out in the barn, at least until I can ride again” and that she wants to return to Lexington next year to compete again at Rolex!

If the link won’t work, try cut and copy…
So inspiring. What a family.
Anther update
Laine’s mom just put another update on Laine’s blog. Another touching post that brought tears to my eyes, as usual! She says that somebody sent Laine a beautiful portrait of Frodo, what a great present!
This is the 2nd time I’ve posted about updates, I hope nobody minds. I know how much they mean to me to read them so I don’t want somebody to miss out.
The interview from the news station had tears in my eyes. I don’t think it will be that hard for Laine to get back up there. All of us horse people are not quite normal to begin with, and I think that helps us to look at things differently than other people do.
