Lainey and Frodo Thread
Official press release from the Kentucky 3 Day web site
My heart is just aching for Lainey.

Not what I wanted to hear.

There are just not enough words.

I can’t think of anything more to say. :frowning:

nooooo!

I was just telling my mom about Frodo’s story and how cool of a horse he was. I can’t beleive this happened. Poor Lainey :frowning:

Oh man I just broke down when I heard this. I’m so sorry for Laine and for her team. Can’t that poor kid get a break?:cry::cry:

Is there anything us COTHers could do for her?

That is so damn sad. What a wonderful and noble beast. Oh poor Lainey. How does anybody get up in the morning after something as sad as this? I’m so terribly sorry. There are no useful words.

RIP Frodo and GIANT jingles for Laine and all the connections.

I am so very sorry to hear this news. How much sadness can one young person stand? To lose your two long-time equine partners and a close friend to the sport you love, and all within a year, seems horrifically unfair. My heart goes out to her, she is a super rider and seems like a lovely person.:frowning:

The fall was horrible and shown one time (live) on screen around the horse park as the camera was following her ride. The coverage was immediately turned to others though. Unlike the fall at the footbridge by another rider horse team whose horse looked exhausted it looked as though Frodo just misjudged the fence and struck it and flipped end over end and landed REALLY hard on other side :frowning:

My thoughts and condolences are surely on his rider who has lost a partner and her support team…

This is the most incredibly tragic thing. And poor Lainey has had to go through this TWICE in a little over a year! How do you find the strength to get back in the saddle again after suffering such terrible loss?

May you rest in peace, Frodo

I’m crying. Can’t say anything except how very, very sorry I am to hear this.

Me too.

I won’t be coming back to Rolex, it’s just too heart-breaking. I just want to make the 20 hour drive home and hug my horses.

My heart breaks for Frodo and for Lainey as well.

Noooo…so sad…this would be incredibly hard for anyone to go through, but I absolutely ache for Lainey because she’s lost 2 wonderful horses and a good friend.

Jingles and condolences…

Godspeed Frodo Baggins:(

Reading the news broke my heart. My condolences to everyone invovled.

I totally got teary eyed watching her clear the head of the lake on Mazetto, thinking of Eleanor; now thinking about how she lost Frodo is breaking my heart:(

my heartfelt condolences to all who loved Frodo and Lainey and her family. I just can’t imagine…

Godspeed Frodo.

This is one of those rare occasions where I simply can’t say much of anything. I literally can’t find words for any of it beyond the simple musings of these few sentences. I just hope this is the end of it.

Shit

RIP Frodo

The necropsy will be very valuable. I’m wondering if perhaps Frodo didn’t suffer EIPH at the fence, lost enough impulsion that he chested it and flipped, and then fractured the base of his skull.

That poor young woman; what an awful year she has lived through. If she were to turn her back on the sport completely now, it would definitely not be from a lack of courage.

Prayers going out to Lainey and her team. So sad to hear about Frodo.

No words. Just so sad for Laine and her horse.
