Lainey and Frodo Thread

My heart breaks for Laine and her family.

Here is a paragraph from the 4th part of her Rolex Featured Rider Installment…

“Most of all, I would like to thank my horses for being so patient and taking care of me through my mistakes and emotions. They are the reason for my happiness, my ambition, my disappointment, but most of all, my being. I love each and every one of them for showing me what it’s like to strive for perfection. I look forward to hearing each and every one of you cheer us on! Until then, heels down, sit back, and kick on”

All of us who love our horses are sharing her pain.

OMG I just made it back to any sort of media after being away all day. I was rooting for Lainey to win the whole damn thing as we both did our 1st CCI* together back in 2000. I am in tears hearing this news  She is a wonderful person and am very glad that she is ok. I am very sorry to hear she lost Fro-fro. I don’t know what else to say.

Damn… how awful. :frowning: Thoughts and major Jingles being sent Laine’s way.

RIP Frodo…

It’s ashame when bad things happen to good horses and good people for that matter.

I am still jingling for Lainey to pull through her injuries without a problem.

Oh, no…the last thing anyone wanted to hear. Poor, poor Frodo. I’m sending prayers and thoughts to Lainey and her family. What a tough year she’s had, the last person who deserves this.

My heartfelt prayers go out to Lainey and her family. Poor Frodo. I am so deeply saddened to hear this news.

Condolences to all involved.

The necropsy will be very valuable. I’m wondering if perhaps Frodo didn’t suffer EIPH at the fence, lost enough impulsion that he chested it and flipped, and then fractured the base of his skull.

That is my thought exactly. RIP, so sad:no:

I was there viney, and I wish I could say that is what happened but it’s not. My condolences to Laine. What an awful day.

Christ. This just sucks. Yet another sad ending for a brave pair. I hope the rider heals quickly, with no complications. :frowning:

Condolences to all involved.

My deepest sympathy for all involved in this tragedy. The sadness in losing a precious equine partner, one who gives so much for our pleasure and is the object of our love and affection, is truly tragic. Major hugs to the rider – we all share with her the loss and pain.

My sincere condolences to all involved. Godspeed, Frodo.

Oh no. My sincerest condolences to Laine and her family at this time. I have met her and Frodo several times, and she is a lovely person and he was a great horse. A really neat horse.

Such a damn shame.

What a terrible thing. My condolences to Lainey for the loss of Frodo and wishes for gentle healing for her in body and spirit. How sad.

Was so heartbreaking to watch the people trying to help him yesterday, running in and out of the screens. I have to say the crowd where we were was just stricken, silent, and respectful. I am just so, so sorry, there are no other words. :frowning:

:frowning: Poor Lainey… my heart goes out to her.

Ugh… I was so hoping for no sad news from Rolex this year…

Jingles and Hugs to everyone involved.

It is hard to hear about things like this in general, but if you actually know Lainey it makes it even harder. Lainey (and her mom!) is probably the nicest person you will ever meet. She has the most bubbly and outgoing personality and it would be hard to find someone who loves her horses and the sport more then she does.
I am so glad to hear that she is doing alright. She has had some bad luck but always manages to bounce back and keep a positive attitude. I’m sure she will be back in the saddle as soon as she is allowed (most likely even sooner!).
I feel so bad for Lainey’s loss. Lainey and Frodo were such an amazing team and always so much fun to watch.

RIP Frodo :frowning: I am another horse lover that will never go to Rolex again. Both times I have gone, I’ve seen horses killed. That isn’t good.
