To this trying to be educated eye it would appear that Silipo was comfortably in 4th place until the top of the stretch, when he simply stopped racing, finishing 8th.
Looked like he just didn’t have any more to give. I wonder at what point does a horse retire, or do they keep dropping in class until they’re at the bottom.
After watching the way he quit racing, I don’t think he’d do in the cheap claimers. Looked like he had some go and just quit. Is he on Laxis?
Sometimes it really pays to watch the jockey. I have the feeling that when things get to be overwhelmingly behind, it pays to save for a fight another day.
Solvent is entered, after three less than outstanding w/o, in a 7.5K claiming race, at Belterra Park, on 7/27.
I suspect the entry is in hope of her being claimed. Her breeding is excellent.
I think it’s to determine if she can even be competitive at what is very close to the bottom ranks. I doubt we’ll see another entry for her is she finishes up the track again. She does have potential value as a broodmare, as you say.
She would possibly also make a sport horse, depending on size and temperament.
She was vet scratched this morning.

Sport Horse anyone? After a good PPE!
Looking at that report, is it normal to have that many horses scratch on race day?
Perhaps a change from turf to dirt?
Solvent now is entered into 5K,1mile claiming race at Belterra Park on8/10.

It is now 9/14. There has been no activity about Solvent, who was entered in a 5K claiming race, bur I suspect was sold before the race, and is now someone’s sport horse candidate. I hope!
Same with Silipo, despite Alexandria's assurances, there has bee no "on track" activity published about him. One would hope that he too has disappeared into the world of "riding horses".
Are there any youngsters coming up out of Lisa?
Oh gosh, I hope a nice home was in the cards for him.
Just on Facebook - from KatieRich Farms.
“We are saddened to announce the death of our beloved broodmare Lisa’s Booby Trap. Lisa’s story touched the hearts of many during her racing career, and also carried into her broodmare career. She was a fan favorite on the tour and would never turn down a treat. She was a great mother to her 8 foals, and two of her daughters still reside here to carry on her legacy.”
I loved her story, her connections, and what a star she was.
Thank you for the very sad post.
The end of a thread, unless those has Silipo, and Solvent are aware of the thread and post.
Sad to say, I have not been following this thread, but I do know the Katierich Farm connections and they are good people who care about their horses’ welfare. I would imagine that all the mare’s offspring are in good, safe hands.
