Lisa's Booby Trap

His last work was two months ago today.

His works are no longer shown on Equibase.

!!!.

The workout tab on a horse’s profile at Equibase disappears after a certain amount of time has passed since the horse’s most recent work.

DRF hangs on to them longer…

The worrywort says TY.

After 2 mo you gotta wonder.

Lisa’s Legacy’s second race will be at Presque Isle on Monday 10/5 in a $75K stakes, 6.5F on the Tapeta…

ML has her as the field’s longest shot at 15/1, as her lone speed figure lags behind most of this group. Then again she was trapped on the rail for most of her maiden win, so I expect a much better figure…

Hey! Hey! Her older bother breezed 4 furlongs to day! Finally!

Now awaiting her, I hope, Happy results.

Lisa’s Legacy went off at 30/1 but still finished second while never really challenging the winner. Still, she improved her speed figure from her maiden win on the turf. Will be interesting to see where her connections go next… longer on the dirt, perhaps?

Replay can be seen here, 10/5, 5th race…

Or a rider who doesn’t wait so long to move? But then we can’t see what’s going on back there.

There’s definitely hope.

Thank you RB for posting.

So, Not That Brady came in 2nd at Aqueduct in a 35K claiming race. This after an ignominious 7th in a 74K Dec6 Optional Claiming Allowance.

So far, not claimed.

So now Not that Brady has joined the sad ranks of claimers. He was claimed on the 27th, and is being run back again tomorrow, in a 74K claiming race.

Lisa’s Legacy just finished last in an allowance race at Turfway after stumbling at the start.

That’s up at the top of the claiming ranks; if the right person claims him he could end up back in allowance/stakes company. All else considered, of course.
Hopefully he’s got eyes on him and if he starts dropping down the ranks someone will claim him into a nice retirement or a second career.

Your statement is very inaccurate. NTB was entered in a state bred allowance/optional claiming with the allowance conditions being non-winners of $13,000 2x, non-winners of 3 lifetime, or a claiming price of $40,000 if out of condition. NTB is still eligible for the allowance condition. The PURSE was $74,000 which is nothing to sneeze at. The downside was that he was beaten 16 1/2 lengths on a final time for the mile being 1:41 and change.

I don’t consider the claiming ranks to be “sad” if that’s the level where a horse can be competitive. The $25,000 NY breds, which is where NTB seems to fit, is still a pretty tough bunch.

On the Farm-Bless your heart for educating me.

Now I see having finished 6th in his last race, he is now scheduled to run again 8 days later in another claiming race, with another new owner.

Bless your heart but someone had to step up and do it.

New owner but same trainer so this looks like a private transaction. Same owners as Lisa’s Legacy.

NTB had a tantrum in the paddock today after Benjamin Hernandez climbed aboard. Both horse and jockey went to the ground, and then NTB got loose. He was quickly apprehended by an outrider. Hernandez was evaluated for injury and I believe cleared to ride later in the card. NTB was vet scratched.

NTB really doesn’t seem interested in racing anymore.

So then they raced Not That Brady two weeks later. He didn’t break in front, moved up a bit and then faded back to 5th.

As Mara put it “Hopefully he’s got eyes on him and if he starts dropping down the ranks someone will claim him into a nice retirement or a second career.” It would seem that he has no interest in working hard enough to be a successful racehorse.

Meanwhile his 1/2 sister Lisa’s Legacy did a 4 furlong slow w/o out in KY. And no sign of Lisa’s Tale.

NTB will come right back a week after his latest start to try the turf for the second time (at the same $35K claiming level):

Another back of the pack run this time on turf for NTB.

I wonder if he’d rather jump.

So now NTB is in a $25K claiming race at a mile, on 5/23.

Lisa’s Legacy breezed 5 furlongs one 15th.

So NTB came in a comfortable first. Whether the change in jockeys, the blinders, the company he raced with, is all in the the questions.

Curious to know if he was claimed. At 15-1, I would think unlikely. He is now a winner of over $300K

Meanwhile Lisa’s Legacy is entered at Churchill Downs, in Race7, a 75K Allowance OPT/Claiming on 5/28.
