He was not claimed.
It will be Lisa’s first time on dirt. She certainly shouldn’t be lacking for fitness - she’s had seven workouts since her last start in March.
Sadly Lisa’s Legacy finished eased after running 2nd and 3rd early on. This left her in 8th.
Very disappointing. She was in such a nice position up front comfortably stalking the pace setter, and then when other horses starting making their move around her on the last turn, she just backed up and had no run.
NTB entered in another 25K claiming race. on 6/10 at Belmont.
Lisa’s Legacy entered in an 102K allowance race on 6/10 at Churchill Downs.
Back to turf sprinting for Lisa. It’s how she won first time out, even though her speed figure was modest.
Churchill pulled all their turf races yesterday in anticipation of rain that never really came, so Lisa was back on the dirt. She was outrun badly early and never involved.
Not that Brady was back on the turf again, but he was also outrun early and threw in the towel late.
Back to the track again for NTB. On 6/17, another 25K claiming race, with him going off at 20-1
Scratched!
??
Yep. Vet scratched.
For his sake I hope nothing serious, but off putting enough to think of retiring him.
Hate to relay bad news, but according to the NYS Gaming Commission data base, Not That Brady suffered a catastrophic injury while galloping on June 26 and didn’t survive.
Not the sort of retiring hoped for.
One does wonder, why a horse vet scratched on June 17, was galloping on the 26th.
Unfortunately we don’t know the nature of the problem necessitating the scratch. It could have been unsoundness but it could have also been a fever, cough, or colic.
Now Lisa’s Legacy has diappeared. No workouts, no scheduled races since 7/17. 3 full weeks.
This just constantly returns to being such an awfully sad story.
Yes! LL worked today at Keeneland, and a good work it was.
Some good news for a change.
Two-year-old gelding (Candy Ride/Lisa’s Booby Trap) named Silipo just won Race 1 at Saratoga in his first start.
Good race.
Let’s see if she continues to run that well.
I had wondered where Lisa’s foals after LL went.
LL has had 20 recorded works in 2021 and only three starts. Hope she doesn’t end up one of those that leaves her career on the training track, but it’s starting to look that way.
