The one that was described as TB/Clydesdale (Covert Rights?) has interesting hind fetlock/pastern movement. The pasterns go horizontal (do the fetlocks touch the ground?). Is that just his conformation?

I thought too but it could just be irregular and unbalanced.

There were a few moments he looked uneven but then he’d get rebalanced and look fine.

She is local to me and I almost sent my young horse to training with her last year before experiencing some soundness issues and she was WONDERFUL! So sweet, loved watching her working with the horses in her program, and her facility was so beautifully run. And of course, Favian was stunning in person! Rooting for them and my personal favorites, HSB and William tomorrow

I’ve also had the mare go lame right in front of the judge. Oops!

She had something weird going on in her RF but we never figured out exactly what it was, in spite of a lot of diagnostics. Stall rest with bandaging and a change in farrier fixed it…

I think Voltaire de Tre stuns me with how gorgeous he is every time I see him. I can’t resist a chestnut with chrome.

Is it weird to be wearing sunglasses in such a high profile dressage test?

No it happens now and then.

Anyone know what kind of bridle Diachello was ridden in?

FYI in case people didn’t see the update - they have flipped the schedule and the 5* cross country will run first tomorrow because of the weather. First horse on course at 8:30am (last at 12:38), first 4* horse goes out at 1:45.

I used to think so - but have learned from some riders that they are very light sensitive (usually blonde with blue eyes). In Colleen’s case, I thinks she’s redheaded, they are often sensitive to sun.

Agreed. I also wonder if they’re nervous about the rain. Jumping a big, tough, terrain filled track while dealing with potentially slippery ground can’t be a relaxing thought.

I’ve got to say Go Harry! as Harry Meade is such a lovely person and he deserves some good luck after last year (a horrendous accident). He has come back right on form and has had 12 dressage tests in the 20s, 11 double clears, after 4 events. Could be in with a chance.

Anyone notice how nice the announcer sounds today? It is our very own @FlightCheck, who is working with Brian O’Connor today! So lovely to hear her on the livestream in the Rolex arena at LRK3DE!!

Just saw on Facebook that Covert Rights has been withdrawn.

I’m shocked he’s back last I heard him he said he was never riding again. Glad that was a short lived thought!

Wow!!! So cool!

Any reason? Lame I’m guessing. He didn’t look 100%.

It’s pretty common if you’ve had Lasik.

Copy of post from Colleen Rutledge Eventing:
ā€œAfter CR’s performance today in dressage, we have opted to withdraw him from the 5* division of the Land Rover Kentucky Three Day Event. He’s not feeling completely himself and seems to be lacking in desire to play this weekend. We’re disappointed that we’re not going to get to tackle this amazing course but we’d rather save him for another day since he’s sound and happy.ā€
