Big gag type with flash and I think lever noseband
Yeah, at Jersey Fresh one year, Boydâs horse kicked up a shoe right in front of the area where I was watching. My friend returned the shoe to him after taking a selfie with it!
Doug is giving an impressive ride to Starr Witness in the 4*, looking incredibly confident, compared with just about everyone else.
It isnât unusual for an eventer to lose a shoe and continue to run, with no ill effect. Most courses only take a few minutes. Competitors want a sound horse for the next day.
At Kentucky, finishing the course probably takes less time than walking back to the stables!
In that slop losing a hind with studs would be concerning, no?
did anyone see the final score for Jenny Caras? The scoreboard doesnât seem to match what the video showed.
No they are used to it. Have to be more careful but itâs fine.
never mind, they fixed the scoreboard
Random: anyone know what Ariel Grald and Simon are up to? I just realized I am kind of surprised not to see them here.
The horses are used to running in variable conditions. It takes years and experience to reach 5*. Studs are helpful but not always essential. Putting in the wrong studs for the conditions can be just as problematic.
Sometimes I feel studs are a must-have accessory, like a bonnet and an eventing breastplate, as I watch a pony running at 80cm fully kitted, head to toe.
One does not want to be the target of a Jimmy Wofford, âoh dear.â
With this second ride, Jessica Phoenix seems to be riding very much behind the motion, leaning back. Sheâs obviously an phenomenally experienced rider, I donât recall her riding quite like that before, so I assume this is due to the footing.
The riders in the interviews seem to confirm these conditions were really sketchy and not fun to ride in.
I really appreciate Jimmyâs commentary so much, giving context to what weâre seeing here from the past, but not being nostalgic.
Yes his commentary rocks!
Thatâs why I wondered if Let it Be Lee lost a hind. That loss of traction would be concerning maybe.
A definite difference in the level of skill between 5* and 4*!
Holy ****. Woods Baughman went SLIDING after having a fall. He looks up and okay though.
woods is very lucky his horse managed to find his feet and didnt fall on top of the rider
A lot of carnage in this 4* division. Geeze.
Why was the woman eliminated at the stop at the down bank before? Had she had other stops?
Lauren Lambert and yes.
