If it breaks your heart to see people dying trying to get here, it must really infuriate you the way the ones that made it here are being treated right now.
Between 2013 and 2017, Delvey defrauded and deceived major financial institutions, banks, hotels, and individuals. In 2017, the NYPD arrested Delvey in a sting operation with the help of her former friend, Rachel DeLoache Williams, who accused Delvey of defrauding her of US$62,000. In 2019, a New York state court convicted Delvey of attempted grand larceny, larceny in the second degree, and theft of services, and she was sentenced to 4 to 12 years in prison. After serving two years, she was released on parole. Six weeks later she was taken into the custody of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement for deportation to Germany. In October 2022, after 19 months of detention, Delvey was granted a $10,000 bail bond and released to house arrest.
No hay or turnout? No hard feed? $30+ per bale for hay on top of board?
And yes of course training is extra, itâs one step above a dry stall so almost everyone is in training / care of some kind of only to get their horse blanketed, turned out and fed. I would budget min $2000/mo-ish?? to be at LA if I wanted my horse fed hay, turned out 4-5 days a week for a few hours and blanketed before any coaching or training and I havenât been there in years, it may be far more by now.
People saying it is âcheap boardâ because staff are paid under the table (they arenât) or that the boarding amenities are so amazing are clearly not familiar with LAEC.
I think the original comment was comparing the FB engagement between this article and the post about Seven being PTS which is a day or two old. Regardless itâs such an apples to oranges comparison

Iâve noticed that people who have such palpable hostility towards hard working immigrants in the horse community, whose life circumstances they do not know, as well as hostility toward other immigrant workers, documented or undocumented in other industries, are:
Woefully ignorant of the disaster that is our immigration policy, and how attempting to remedy decades of inaction by our legislators in one fell swoop, is not the answer and is not good for anyone.
Seem emboldened by the anonymity of the internet to be incredibly judgemental of people about whose lives they know nothing, and apparently care nothing about.
Itâs heartbreaking to see this hateful attitude.

It heartbreaking to see people make such assumptions about those they do not know based on an internet post and to assume others have âhostilityâ. I think thatâs called projecting,
IMHO if your visa that allows you to be here has expired you should leave, whether you choose to leave on your own or wait for the government to do it seems to be the subject of discussion.
Itâs not like that date is a surprise, so make plans to renew it or extend it or whatever you need to do to follow the rules to stay, or leave.
And if you didnât have one in the first place then you shouldnât be here at all

so this all makes me think of a parking ticket. You went over your allotted time? The extreme response is: No more driving a car for you. You knew the parameters when you parked there.
In reality, a parking ticket usually comes with a fine, some paperwork, and is dismissed upon payment or perhaps a court appearance with the fine, some paperwork and then dismissed. Eventually it could lead to loss of license if enough time has passed or there are other circumstances.
So, in that respect, it is very similar to an expired visa. right? or am I missing something?
