Lovestruck aka Violet Joy

We are picking up our recip Coco this afternoon and taking her to a friend’s farm for the next step of this journey. I will have to move her somewhere else to foal her out because she is a big girl and this farm doesn’t have a foaling stall but we have time to figure that out. “Due date” 3/28/20

Woot woot!!! So exciting!! Jingles for a smooth pregnancy, delivery, and a beautiful foal! Go Coco!

I tried to upload several different pics of the mare but they were all too big apparently, you can click the link in my signature if you want to see her. She is so big she barely fit in my trailer and my trailer is 7’8"

and what is happening with Jess?

Brainstorming help needed please! Just got word that Jess’ owner is very ill and can no longer care for her and I want to make arrangements for her so nothing bad happens to her. She is 21 and sound but hasn’t been ridden in years. I have no idea what to do with her. Any ideas? Help

Unless something changes between now and then I am
going to drive the 10 hours round trip to pick Jess up the end of June. I will have to move Juliet to a less expensive barn July 1st since I hadn’t planned or budgeted for having 3 horses. I am hoping to find her a rescue or a companion home at some point so I don’t have to pay for her the rest of her life but obviously can’t let her ship to auction.

Not naming names but Jess has found an angel in the form of a very respected COTH cardiologist who will go nameless for now. Thank God, that is such a weight off of me. Now I just need to figure out how to get her to Michigan.

Now we know exactly who that is :lol: What great hands Jess will be in!

I wasn’t sure we were going to be able to go but looks like we are heading to Devon tomorrow to show in hand on Sunday. My dad had a bad fall and gave himself a brain bleed and has been in the hospital all week. He is doing well enough to be discharged to a rehab hospital tonight so looks like I am going to make my handling debut. Honing my skills for Juliet’s foal someday.

So sorry about your dad - that is very scary. Jingles for a speedy recovery. Good luck at Devon!!!

:eek: for your dad. That must have been scary. Hopefully in-patient rehab and not skilled nursing facility. Also hoping he continues to improve.

Have fun at Devon practicing for Juliet’s baby :slight_smile:

He is in an inpatient rehab hospital, skilled nursing would be a step down so may be next.

Jingles… for both you and your dad.

@Laurierace

Glad to hear he started in inpatient rehab before skilled nursing. I also started in inpatient rehab and was able to transition home to home healthcare rehab vs skilled nursing.

Coco looks like a sweetie :slight_smile:

Coco is definitely a big girl! Plenty of room to grow a Bunny in the oven! She’s precious!

Congratulations on Juliet’s 3rd in a big class at Devon!!!

@Laurierace

She is such a lovely girl. Congrats on your 3rd! Certainly nothing to sneeze at in a large class. :slight_smile:

Hope her baby follows in her footsteps :smiley:

Thank you! We are in the wait and see period for the next many months but so far so good. We are taking Juliet out of full training for the summer to save some money so are moving her over to where Coco is stabled. Can’t wait to see them together and watch them get to know each other.
