I know Robin likes lateral exercises. I knew that something would be in the test. She wants to see that riders at this level can do these things. Obviously she was right. Not one did it properly

If I was judging, I totally dropped a couple people off entirely after watching them trot in. There is “service-ably sound” and then there is Jesus someone call the vet please.

If I hadn’t watched anything today, the proper winner of the class would be winning, and instead, she didn’t even test.

Next year, I will just hang out at Renn’s house and eat waffles and not actually watch.

I discussed this with a couple of people privately over text. This is the rule:

EQ102 Judging

1. SOUNDNESS. Unsoundness does not penalize a competitor unless it is sufficiently severe to impair the
   required performance. In such cases, the imposition of a penalty is at the judge’s discretion.

This is a very, very, very bad rule.

This is the Maclay HORSEMANSHIP. You should never be trotting your horse into the ring when it’s lame unless you’re jogging it for the vet. But you especially should not be trotting your horse into the ring when it is lame at the effing Maclay HORSEMANSHIP Final.

Hind end is allowed to be on a circle up to one meter in diameter if it follows dressage protocol.
