MB CIVIL SUIT UPDATE #10 K’s Request to Adjourn (delay) DENIED 11/01/22

I am not sure what any of it has to do with anything, but I how do we know for a fact that Robert Guy Goodwin/Jim E Starks has some sort of affiliation with the USMC?

I think Lex’s point is simply that just because there is someone with USMC experience with a similar name, it does not mean it is him.

What I want to know is why Jonathan Kanarek thought it was OK to send a letter to the judge, and what that letter said.

Stolen Valor, duh. If he has a relative who resembles him closely enough, he can run around saying that he was a Marine in his younger days and point to a photo of said individual, claiming his identity and service.

That was the way I took it.

As in, there was a cluster of members of the Goodwin family in that area, some of them named Robert Goodwin, and one of the other Robert Goodwins was actually in the Marines. Not the same Robert Goodwin who does LK’s laundry.

RG having some sort of affiliation with the USMC was brought up during the criminal trial. Bilinkas questioned him about it but nothing official was ever stated IRT length of service or if he was an actual Marine versus recruit. That’s when he also made the unbelievable claim of not knowing anything about guns despite having some sort of USMC affiliation. Even if he went through boot camp to some degree, he would have weapons knowledge.

To me, this is the only really relevant part of the discussion of RG’s involvement with the military. How exactly does one not understand guns if they were somehow affiliated with the military and/or went through even just basic? Seems odd to me.

And you missed it.

So, if you look at the online stuff, and sort by case proceedings, you see this.

I wonder about that 9:00. Will we see some rulings show up fairly early, maybe? Or…maybe not.

He’s got a lot of motions scheduled for that session. No idea what kind of order they go in.

Oh wow. So it is scheduled to be answered first thing on Friday.

That is interesting.

Great news.

You will have to look at lots of Tractors on Friday morning.

LK also stated in at least 2 different posts on the forum that RG was a USMC vet. I don’t believe a word LK says, but I do believe RG had some sort of USMC affiliation because of what I heard discussed with the criminal trial.

If indeed RG did make it through boot camp and became an actual Marine, he damn sure knew about guns. The Marine Corps is unique in that everyone must qualify as a rifleman. Other branches are not the same.

I also believe RG used what’s called Marine Corps Martial Arts (MCMAP) when he choked MB out twice during the altercation. They teach this specifically in MCMAP. If RG made it through boot camp and was a Marine, he would have known how to easily do a lot of damage to MB hand to hand in an altercation. If RG didn’t have this knowledge, I might be less inclined to believe MB had to use self defense. Marines are taught to inflict the most damage as fast as possible and they are also taught how to break limbs and joints - IE. MB’s broken arm.

While I don’t think some other Marine being named RGG is relevant, I do think RG having affiliation with the USMC is relevant for the civil trial.

Is/has there ever been any kind of a timeline (length of time) from when MHG and the CPS woman were kicked out of the office and when the shooting happened or when LK called 911?

Yo! Calling you, MCPD.

(Of course minus the seven minutes LK spent beating MB.).

Fair.

But I’m remembering a recent thread where someone who had never shown at so much as a schooling show made some pretty bold statements about dressage judges being snooty bit*hes with breed bias…when there were actually R judges posting in the thread, trying to be helpful.

Similar things have happened in the hunter, jumper and eventing forums. It’s always good for a laugh.

Yes, there are posers. But one of the things I love about COTH is that the posers are exposed pretty quickly

And if I had a pony
I’d ride him on my boat
And we could all together
Go out on the ocean
I said me upon my pony on my boat

That happened here - and we definitely fall in to that Nicest Bestest Kindest category… as witness by the fact that 10 boarders had been there for over 20 years (some different horses).

The BO said it. I said it (barn manager). Boarders said it.

I am sure I even said “I could just kill her” more than a few times as well under duress… and yet we constantly need to remind some posters that that is just an expression of frustration - not the announcement of an impending murder.

… and were slammed for saying that? YD turned inside out about that phrase.

EIA: … but then, she turned inside out in her very sanctimonious, pseudo-intellectual way about many things.
