I’d also like to know the time gap between LK calling 911, ED calling 911, and JK/IM calling 911.

That was the part that struck me as relevant about RG’s military experience, whatever it was. If he had training in hand to hand combat, that would probably give him a huge advantage over someone who had spent his life riding dressage horses, no matter how many times RG tried to point out that he was shorter than MB.
If the reported photo of RG in USMC Dress Blues is authentic, those photos are not taken until after they have passed rifle training 3/4 way through basic training when they receive their dress uniform. With his criminal record and drug use, my thoughts are his history caught up with him before he finished basic and was booted out.
I love that song.
He was lying.
I’m drawing a blank. What song is it?
LOVE that song…have seen Lyle sing it few times
The mystery masked man was smart
He got himself a Tonto
cause Tonto did the dirty work for free
but Tonto he was smarter
and one day he said kemo sabe
well kiss my ass, I bought a boat
I’m going out to sea
If I had a Boat by Lyle Lovett
Thanks!
Yes! But did you have a shovel in your truck?
(Like a farm that size didn’t have a backhoe.)
I don’t doubt you. I have seen plenty of stupid stuff! And plenty of flounces or meltdowns or ghostings when people get in over their heads. But I was also told recently that I dare not question someone because of their experience when what they said was absolutely ridiculous.
Way back in the beginning, long ago, I made a comment that had Semper Fi in it. LK jumped down my throat immediately how dare I use that term since I was not a Marine…on and on. Well, the slapback came when I stated chapter and verse who can use the term, when, and why. I also went into great detail about my family’s extensive background with USArmy and USMC and challenged her to show me RG’s DD214. She slithered off and never mentioned it again.
Well, duh.
I still laugh when I think of the day some years back when I stopped to help an unappreciative turtle across the road, and he almost took my thumb off. And then five minutes after the fact, I remembered that I had a shovel in the back of my truck that would have worked perfectly for that task. Lol.
I hope that thread wound down to its inevitable conclusion where that poster was exposed as ridiculous.
I have a good COTH example. I posted an opinion in a TB racing thread and got jumped pretty hard for it. Someone even said it was clear I had no experience with racing TBs. A IRL friend stepped in and said “Well, no, actually McGurk has a lot of experience.”
There was a discussion, and in fact, while I DO have a lot of experience on the farm, breeding, breaking and galloping and on the FRONT side of the track, I have zip, zilch, nada experience on the back side of the track. In fact, I have never worked on the backside.
So my critics were both right and wrong.
But my opinion about what was happening on the backside was, in fact, uninformed.
It was a civil discussion and it all ended well.
But again, the thing I love about COTH is…express an uninformed or outright ignorant opinion…short countdown to being called on it.
For sure. I can say for a fact that height would be of little issue in a scenario where only one person were trained hand to hand against someone who is not. You don’t need height to perform certain maneuvers. The choke hold and breaking his arm is rank for what is taught in the USMC.

It’s entirely possible. He could have had some charges that were waived that were non-violent and not drug related to get him into boot camp and possibly gotten through boot camp and kicked out later some other way. He may have also had charges but not convictions at that point. He also could have told the recruiter he didn’t have a criminal history and then got into boot camp and signed up for a MOS that required a security clearance and they saw charges then and kicked him out. I’d love to know when he supposedly went to boot camp and to then compare it to his charges and their dates.
No, because I followed my own advice from earlier in this thread: if you are feeling negatively about your participation in a conversation… step away. So maybe others think I was “rightly” shown the door… I just decided it wasn’t worth it.
I also believe RG used what’s called Marine Corps Martial Arts (MCMAP) when he choked MB out twice during the altercation. They teach this specifically in MCMAP. If RG made it through boot camp and was a Marine, he would have known how to easily do a lot of damage to MB hand to hand in an altercation.
Couldn’t RG have learned this move from a relative who was a marine? Especially if he’s actually was trying to piggy back off someone else’s service?

I remember a discussion years and years ago on the H/J forum of the BB about whether the hand gallop was a three beat or a four beat gait. Which to me, in the context of a hunter or jumper in a show ring, only had one correct answer.
But hoo, boy. There were other people who had a very different opinion, even though it turned out they were actually talking about what a racehorse would do at a full gallop, going about twice as fast as any horse in a show ring.
