It was owned by a builder or something and run as Lotus Equestrian Center, but has disappeared from Facebook etc, so I’m not sure it’s still in operation.
I’m guessing maybe they decided they were better off keeping a little bit lower profile based on the history of the place. I hope things are going well for them.
My neighbor is an environmental law attorney and every few weeks has to fly to So Cal where her firm is working on a case that’s been active since the 1970’s. Multigenerational for both prosecutor and plaintiffs.
LOL if the judge has the lawyers and/or litigants up by the bench doing the case the audience can’t hear it. It was like that in Criminal Court arraignments and Landlord Tenant. And there’s noise in the courtroom like court officers yelling for people to stop talking, cracking their gum or being on their phones LOL
My dad had a case from the 70s against the city for a nearby landfill when many people came down with cancer etc. He had Chronic lymphocytic leukemia. It just settled this year though dad’s part was tossed by his attorneys because he didn’t die from it.
I’ll have to ask my neighbor–wonder if it’s the same case. She never discusses work but her husband is a stay-at-home dog dad (I know, only in Calif.) and he tends to dish a little.
Keep in mind that this is all LK et al have to stand on. Trying to deny ALL the proceedings to get her out of there. MB’s legal team has also said she was unlawfully there at the time of the incident and have restructured Mb’s position as a potential “landlord.” I’m certain they have reasoning as to why. Trying to say over and over that LK wasn’t evicted is like buying into a sad delusion. That will easily be disproven in civil court, as well as the fact that LK did not to mitigate her circumstances.
LK and RG told the police that they had recordings in personal spaces that did not violate the law. Unless proven otherwise, or MB asking PD to search for devices to prove otherwise, I’d say they believed LK/RG. So when police did call the Morris County Prosecution Office, I doubt they were concerned since the devices appeared to be law abiding.
On another note - the suit against the PD largely failed because they still viewed the situation as a civil dispute which police would not be involved with anyways, and because MB’s lawyers alleged that the police should have know MB’s psychiatric state which they are not really able to assess. A lot of PD also do not test for GSR. It depends on the capabilities of the PD. Sad but true according to LE that I’ve spoken to about the suit. This is a quiet town, I doubt they are accustomed to many cases like this. I don’t believe because the suit was dismissed that JK had some how corrupted the local PD.
His violent past actually explains why one might be worried about upsetting them with an eviction, making it hard for them to go anywhere, and try to simply relocate them instead.
