MB CIVIL SUIT UPDATE #10 K’s Request to Adjourn (delay) DENIED 11/01/22

I have been watching Hallmark and Lifetime holiday movies for nearly 2 weeks already. Lol. Favorite time of year… until February. (When I curse myself for leaving California!).

The War on Thanksgiving must come to an end.

See Brooks, Darrell for a recent high profile example.

As far as Halloween memories go, when we were out trick or treating, groups would meet on a corner to compare notes… that blue house a block over has homemade popcorn balls! The house on the corner with the big tree is handing out candy apples!! The yellow house on Oakridge St. has full size chocolate bars - not the little ones!! Plus we all had those UNICEF donation boxes hanging around our necks like a horde of St. Bernards with brandy kegs.

I do NOT like candy corn. Ick.

YES!! Smarties in Canada are chocolate M&Ms with prettier colors… Smarties in the US are like Rockets ( I think?) in Canada - a row of smallish Sweet Tarts in clear wrappers.

Of course, you would lick the red Smarties (Canadian style) and then use the melty coating as smeary lipstick. :kissing:

Old Smarties jingle from memory…

When you eat your Smarties
Do you eat the red ones last?

Do you suck them very slowly
Or crunch them very fast?

Eat that candy-coated chocolate
But tell me when I ask

When you eat your Smarties
Do you eat the red ones last?

I always ate the lilac purple ones last. ~ haughty sniff ~

But the absolute best - peanut butter cups. Even if they are shaped like pumpkins or bunnies or Christmas trees:yum:

Well, if you don’t remember for sure, you should probably repeat your experiment. Lol.

I saw something about the UNICEF trick-or-treating last week. I think they said it is all online now. Or maybe on a phone app. No more boxes.

At least it’s happier than a kid asking someone to buy them coffin shoes for mamma’s last Christmas!

YEP! Or Diet Coke.

Well, it was a few years ago (that’s my excuse and I’m sticking to it!)…But it would be worthwhile redoing! Friday night would be perfect, my DH & DD are going to Vernon, NY to race the new horse, so I’ll have the house to myself and won’t have to share the bars, of which we have lots since we didn’t get a single trick or treater.

Oh lordy, I HATE that song!

The Little Drummer Boy and Twelve Days of Christmas also get my undying hatred, but the quintessential loathe-inducing song is Last Christmas. I seriously do NOT understand how anyone can like it, much less make 3,842 covers for it. Blargh!

Also, just because a bunch of artists have recorded a song, DOESN’T make it different! They’re just playing the same darned song 86 times in a row.

My go-to radio station when I’m driving back and forth to work starts playing EXCLUSIVELY Christmas music the second week of November. During that time, I listen to another station. Not dealing with that insanity. I start back listening to them the week of Christmas, because then I’m more in the mood for it.

Aww comeon. Christmas is the holiday getting stiffed! It’s the only one where it’s only couth to keep the decor up for one measly month (and it takes SO LONG to put it all up!).

If it were up to me Christmas wouldn’t start until December 20th. I hate Christmas music.

ETA: Christmas decorations could start December 1st.

Scrooge here. I love Christmas. HOWEVER, when you start seeing crap in the stores in September, I mean Really?

Mariah Carey, bleh. Can’t stand her.

Little Drummer Boy has got to be my most favorite Christmas song.

So who has already started Christmas shopping? I have. :stuck_out_tongue:

I hate all holidays. There I said it.

My two favorite holiday songs are Robert Keen Earl’s “Merry Christmas from the Family.” A masterpiece.

The other is The Holly and the Ivy.

I love the Bing Crosby/David Bowie version

Me too! Finished with my sisters and my brother and my niece. Now only have my sons to shop for. Should be all finished, wrapped and done by Thanksgiving, so I can entirely relax and enjoy Christmas!
