MB CIVIL SUIT UPDATE #10 K’s Request to Adjourn (delay) DENIED 11/01/22

That is my husband’s favorite Christmas song. Every time he hears it, his heart grows three sizes.

Yet another two lines that are apropos in these MB threads:

I could have been someone
Well so could anyone

Although James Taylor’s Christmas album is pretty amazing.

I have trouble believing anymore. Once I learned that Boris Karloff did not sing the theme song “You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch” that it was the voice actor for Tony the Tiger, I don’t know what to believe anymore.

It’s OK to believe in Santa for a little while. Much better than believing in people.

I will try!

When I was in high school (back in the dark ages) our chorus sang “The 12 Days after Christmas” - it was a hoot.

Have you seen the flash mob of the Alleluia Chorus? (I think it was the Alleluia Chorus but I could be misremembering)

My husband introduced me to Si Cranstoun. He’s a British singer and his song, ‘A Christmas Twist’ is one of my favorite holiday tunes nowadays.

I adore most of Si’s music, and we’re hoping one day to see him in person. He doesn’t come to the U.S. often as he prefers to play small clubs in England, but we’ll go wherever he’s headlining if he makes another trip.

Upbeat, energetic, and he has an amazing voice.

So… does Obi-Wan Kenobi sing?

If so, I might have to track that one down.

Well, Ewan McGregor does, though I don’t think he has a holiday album forthcoming.

Wait, what? How perfectly grinchy…not even singing his own songs!

Yes, he was great in Moulin Rouge.

I think he did some musicals in London in his youth.

I love I’ve Got My Love to Keep Me Warm, Dean Martin edition.

Also, Sufjan Stevens’ Christmas songs.

If you love Kings choir, see if you can find a copy of the Choir of New College Oxford. They did a gorgeous programme. It’s a bit old now; I’ll see if I can find a link.

NPR carries 9 Lessons and Caroles in the US for anyone who wants to listen. It’s not really Christmas until we hear ‘Once in Royal David’s City’ begin!

And, now, here is where I lose all my friends: I cannot stand ‘Hallelujah’ by Leonard Cohen. I don’t care who sings, where they sing it, or why they sing it. It is absolutely awful and the lyrics/forced rhymes are

I want that to never hear that song again. Ever.

I’ll show myself out.

Several years ago at US Nationals, one rider did his reining freestyle routine to “Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer”. His mother played the part of Grandma, staggering around with her jug of hooch, and every time the title line played, he would do a rundown and slide and Grandma would fall over. It was awesome.

Does he?

For those who put up trees, real or fake?

I used to do real trees but now I have a fake one with cat proof (kind of) ornaments.
