MB CIVIL SUIT UPDATE #10 K’s Request to Adjourn (delay) DENIED 11/01/22

Now if you’re a vacuumer you tend to go find the Judges signature page and read the paragraph right before it to get the actual decision and then scan backwards the next few paragraphs to make sure you didn’t miss anything. The decisions are always at the end by the signature.

Will the decisions be posted? Or will we be left in the dark? There must be a lot of behind the scenes stuff going on. It’s been informative learning how this all works!

The Judges Order will be posted in the documents section with a quick word in the paper filing type description: Motion Granted, Motion Denied, Adjourned with date, etc. Sometimes Motions are numbered so I’d have to use brain cell energy.

Example:

Motion 1 Plaintiff Mot to Compel Denied
Motion 2 Defendant Mot to Dismiss Denied
Motion 3 Plaintiff Mot to Dism Defendant’s Counterclaim Granted

We have been dealing with one of our ummmmmmm special petitioner’s this week. He has been sending emails with f bombs and all the lesser curse words. Think conspiracy theory type person. Any how, he sent in a Voluntary Dismissal. YAY, send out a simple Notice of Closure and be done with it, right? Ohhhhh noooooooo the judge had to issue an Order Closing the case with all kinds of statue citations blah blah blah. It’s probably going to send the dude over the edge. I fully expect to come in Monday to more fun and games with this guy. Can’t wait.

I do the same thing, go to the bottom of the decision, read that then work your way up.

Is it just me, or does anyone else want that to read Shawskank?

That judge is protecting his butt from Appeal or some other litigant outrage. Normally they just order Dismissed with or without prejudice. When they write out a full order, the Judge is protecting themselves from crazy drama.

(I know appeal isn’t applicable but tell them that)

Does anyone know if the hearing was even held today?

I wonder why under case proceedings, it is listed at 9:00 and has a court room number but the clerk notice said 11:30. Did the vacuumer lead us astray?

Sure always blame the vacuumer!

The time was posted by a law clerk. They are attorneys who serve as the judges assistant. They are not court clerks.

Court Clerks are peace officers with shields. We do not make mistakes that I’m aware of.

Under case proceedings, the one listed for today was the Motion to Amend the Counter Claim, as today is the first day for Judge S to consider that one.

The ones scheduled for oral argument don’t show as today on there. They still show that first date for him to consider them. (But I’m going to guess he let them argue that new one as well, since they were all together).

 Please train the law clerks on how to post the correct time! If it says 11:30, we want to watch it at 11:30!

So is there any way to know what happened? Or do we just have to wait until somebody gets around to posting something?

I did check Nancy Jaffer’s website, and there is no mention of today’s legal proceedings so far.

Wow, I wish I hadn’t. Horrible.

I would assume that since it was not available to watch online we have to wait for the judges answers to be posted on the site.

So sorry for your loss. :sleepy::kissing_heart:

So it looks like he heard the motion to amend, and then threw everyone into a case conference. Sounds like he wants this stuff sorted.

Edit - oh, wait the case management conference is for 1/12

Can anyone talke about what a case management conference is?
