Why would SS, a committee that protects and serves minors, become involved with anything discussed on COTH? If we are to fall for what IM says, LK would be the victim and she certainly isn’t a minor. Why would SS be the body to intervene?

That is exactly what SS is chartered to do. BUT, USEF has CODES OF CONDUCT for members of which Lauren Kanarek has repeatedly violated!!!

The reason I think Jk is using USEF and SS to threaten people is because LK has voiced her concerned with USEF/SS taking action against her - SS because of the false allegations, USEF for the incredibly poor conduct. He assumes because LK can be targeted and it is a threat to her, it is for everyone else.

I think he also assumes everyone cares as much as LK does about competing in USEF because he is not a horse person, just funds one that is.

I also think he is too ignorant about the horse world to realize that not every poster even lives in the US and would be affected by a US equestrian body.

As I’ve said before, I can completely understand if you didn’t like the video. However, putting down an entire career field because you loathe MB was pretty appalling to me. I have a lot of respect for those that choose counseling as a career field. You are dealing with the worst of people’s problems, day in, day out, and that can be a huge burden to bear.

Yes, there have been some pretty harsh comments about LK on FB, L&C, YT, etc. Everything discussed on COTH in comparison has been incredibly tame. People can be ruthless on SM. About anything. But most of it ironically pales in comparison to a lot of LK’s behavior, so I can’t really say I feel sorry for her. I really can’t imagine being in the K’s shoes with this mess as I, nor my family, would ever behave the way they do but I do believe this fate was self imposed.

As far as taking requests, welcome to public entertainment. Virtually anything geared as entertainment for the public takes what the public wants into account when deciding or writing subject matter. I just think it’s silly to imply something nefarious about this.

I did not “put down an entire career field”. I pointed out that he was not a highly trained psychiatrist, and that such “entertainment” videos never come from actual psychiatrists because diagnosing someone without examining them is a violation of the rules of the APA. I agree that counseling as a profession is very valuable. I think using your training and credentials to exploit celebrities as fodder for your YouTube channel is disgusting.

Thank you for acknowledging that his videos are best interpreted as “public entertainment”. Gladiator battles to the death in Ancient Rome were also a form of public entertainment. I find gladiator fights even more repulsive. What Dr Grande is doing is not nearly as disgusting.

I think his personality and character was fairly extreme on a lot of dimensions, not all of them good.

Anything online provided to an audience can be considered entertainment. There are a plethora of psychiatrists and other M.Ds that provide insight on YT and other platforms. They can offer their opinion without medically diagnosing anyone and it is done all the time.

I was just watching a YouTube video about a cyberstalking/harassment/defamation case. They’re filing in NJ because NJ supposedly has strict laws on cyber bullying. So it begs the question, again, how did law enforcement fail MB so miserably! He had/has the receipts!
I’m also increasingly frustrated with USEF and Safe Sport that no action has been taken against LK. They either take it seriously or they don’t. This isn’t a one off where they have to be careful. There is so much information out there available for anyone to access. I don’t know why they haven’t acted.

Another reason why I would renew the case against the police.

If renewed, would it get a different judge? The judge for the original police case is the same one handling this civil case now. Don’t know if that would be a plus or a minus.
